Monorail Spiel Question

From memory the spiel has been updated, in general though the spiels on the monorail have been cut down to almost nothing. Back in the nineties the speil was almost constant on all lines for the entire journey, fast forward to today and 75% of the content has been removed.

It is a real shame.

the monorail spiel hasnt changed yet for the removal of toontown. It still says "7 themed lands of the magic kingdom"

1. I think the OP was referring to the EPCOT monorail spiel.

2. In re: #1, my visit last year it has not been updated despite HISTA closure and EO open.

Are you sure? The only spots on any of the lines where there is no narration are basically parts of the stretch down World Drive to and from Epcot.

They will probably refer to Storybook Circus Land as a land by itself. Otherwise they'll have to change lots of references (like the park opening show at the MK).

Yeah, the only thing indicating that Storybook Circus Land will not be considered it's on land is Eric Jacobsen referring to the Toontown Station as Fantasyland Station - That very easily could have been a mistake.

Storybook Circus being called a separate land and still being home to the Fantasyland Station would not be unprecedented. At Disneyland the Frontierland Station is in New Orleans Square and Mickey's ToonTown station is much closer to Fantasyland, being inside the berm and outside the entrance to Mickey's ToonTown. Storybook Circus may be viewed by the Imagineers as a sub-land, but that does not stop Disney from publicly calling it a separate land.

Yes, it says 'go to the Imagination Institute and watch something nobody liked the first time it was around!'

Let's whine about something just because YOU don't like it!

Oh psh. If you like it, more power to you. But there was a reason it was removed: No one liked it. OK, no one is too strong. Very few liked it. Disney doesn't remove attractions that put butts in the seats.

Easy...

You will rile up the MJ fanatics. They are not interested in facts.

Limited Engagement

As of last week, I remember hearing them mention the EO tribute and it was a "limited time engagement."
When my wife and I took the Epcot Monorail Feb. 5, there was mention of Captain EO and limited time engagement. Really enjoyed the movie, although somewhat dated. :sohappy:

People did stop watching it... after an 8 year run. It got old, boring, and just plain silly. That's the reason it got removed. If it had truly been as bad as you're claiming than it would have gotten booted out of the park just as fast as JIYI. People get tired of seeing the same thing over and over. It was time for something new.The same thing happened to HISTA.

You are not interested in common sense, it seems. The film closed after 8 years, if low popularity was an issue from the start it wouldn't have lasted that long. People enjoyed HISTA at first too, popularity wains after several years.
