I'd love it if the Monorail system could be expanded... but I know its cost prohibitive. But wouldnt it be great if it could take us anywhere on property ? As soon as we arrive its the first thing we do. I've got to ride the monorail around the resort loop and get my first view of the castle at a distance. Then it's into MK for the close up view. Later on its onto the EP line. If I had a bazillion dollars I'd sponsor a monorail expansion.

Same here. I always take one lap around the resort loop on the monorail before I go into any park. To me the monorail is something that just screams Disney. There aren't many other parks that have them. I would love to see them expanded so that they could take people anywhere on property.

I believe that Disney should build a Community Transportation Hub ( CTH ) in Lake Buena Vista, much like TTC. A monorail would run form Orlando International Airport to LBV. This would allow guest access to the resort immediately from the airport. Also at the CTH there would be a Peoplemover satellite station that connected LBV to Celebration. This line would also run to different areas in Orlando with many satellite stations. I will post more into detail on this idea on the thread MY Vacation Kingdom in the next couple of days located in the Imagineer section.

how about Ultra pods ?
here are some interesting points found here ( posted in 2011)
video here
  • The pods can travel at up to 25 miles (40kph) per hour.
  • The pods use 70 per cent less energy than it takes to power a car, and 50% less than a bus.
  • The Heathrow pod has taken six years to develop at a cost of £30m.
  • The Heathrow pods are expected to eliminate 50,000 bus journeys on the roads around Heathrow each year.Journey time to and from the terminal is congestion free and around ten minutes less for the average passenger (compared to the original buses).

I prefer buses over the monorail. There's just something about having to squint to see where the bus going and either jumping on or doing a little groan.
