hey does anybody know around what time the new monorail will open in disneyland and what it will be like?

Monorail Opening

I didn't think DL was getting a new monorail. I know the monorail went into shuttle mode (one way trips) last January and that it is scheduled to be completely closed later this year - but that was due to construction for the new Finding Nemo sub ride. The monorail was scheduled to re-open after Nemo construction was finished.

Wasn't it a one way trip already if you went from Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland, but you could do a round trip if you started in Disneyland?
There are rumors of a new monorail, both in Disneyland and Walt Disney World, but nothing has been confirmed.

But all of this construction means some tricky one-way operation for the monorail for the most of 2006, before the monorail shuts down completely to rebuild the Tomorrowland station and begin testing its first new train. Those new monorail trains won't all be arriving at once though. Much like the process used in the late 80's when Disneyland last redid its monorail fleet, one new train at a time will arrive approximately every 6 to 8 months. It won't be until Christmas of 2008 that the entire fleet will be changed out to the new body-style, although the first new train should arrive on the beam at about the same time the submarines open in May of 2007.
