Anyone in here collece the model monorails and set ups?

I was wondering why the EPCOT SSE that goes with it has the monorail going through the middle?? I may be fussy on a few things from WDW, but I am sure that the Monorail does not go through/under the SSE. it goes around it.

No it doesn't....but it's just one of those things that you get over as a collector. Once you have enough track you can make it loop arounsd like it is in the real world.

I was thinking about getting it and cutting it off the base that it sits on so it'll be more realistic

One good thing about themonorail set up is that it is so easy to set up and take down. but if you wanted to set it up permantly it would be done like any other model rail road set up. get an empty "guest" room and turn it into the "train" room.

Yes, to give you an idea of all the different ways you can do stuff with the Monorail, heres a picture of my old setup Here
Of course its different now. I now have 3 different Monorails, the smaller train and a bunch of other different things. Its really neat to have it all going at once.

Thanks! Looks good. Its bigger than I thought. There is a restaurant that we go to in Bradenton, Fl that has a train set that follows the perimiter of the place up near the ceiling, I was thinking along those lines.

If I were to do it, that is how I would. I do not have the room to have anything out in the open. When I was a kid my cousin had a train set up in there basement and the wholething was like 15 by 20. It was huge, with mountains, lakes, etc. If I had room, I would have something like that for WDW but I have a smaller house with not enough room as it is.

Oh, I LOVE the Monorail toys.

On my trip before last I picked up the Haunted Mansion because it's one of my favorite rides.

My last trip I became a little more attached and picked up the Monorail (Purple), Spaceship Earth, Dumbo and the Astro Orbitorfrom Once Upon a Toy. The Dumbo I picked up was faulty so I exchanged it for the only other one there, which was also faulty, but I disected it and got it to work.

I was looking for the Mad Tea Party in Once Upon a Toy, but they didn't have it, so I was off to ebay! I got it 2 weeks later and it was only 10 dollars.

A month or 2 ago I was in the New York City World of Disney that just opened a few months ago and picked up some extra track for my monorail.

For Christmas I got the Contemporary Resort, more track for my Monorail, The HO Scale Train, The HO Scale Train Station and the Castle.

So to sum it all up, my collection includes, the Monorail, extended track, The Haunted Mansion, The Mad Tea Party, Dumbo, The Astro Orbitor, The Walt Disney World Railroad, The Walt Disney World Train Station, The Contemporary resort, Spaceship Earth, The Castle, and a Partrige in a Pear Tree :lookaroun :D

I just remembered something.

For the last ten years that I've lived in my house, the walls of my room have been white.
Those of you that know me know that that just doesn't sit.
So, after years of begging, my parents finally cracked and I'm painting my walls, but now that I've had all ths time to think about it, I want to do more than just paint it one color, so, I'm painting my room to look like Disneyland.

I'm going to have my HO Scale Walt Disny World Railroad running around my room close to my ceiling, and my monorail will be hangin down above my bunkbed which is on the soon-to-be Tomorrowland wall of my room.

Oh, by the way, I don't know who's seen this and who hasn't, but I think some of you m,ight find it interesting due to what you've been mentioning.

This is what I'll be doing with my Train and my Monorail, except it won't tunnel through the walls.
Oh, if anyone wants to see pictures of my Monorail setup, just let me know. It's not quite set up in one area because of the different "lands" of my room, but I can get it all together for a family photo :D.

That was a kinda bonus reason for starting this thread. Hopes to see some great layouts.

Part of it is I want to see how the resorts and some of the attractions came out and how they look. I've been thinking about getting a monorail set for a while now. Seeing some layouts will help me in my decision.
