Time for another Mom and Maddie trip report. We hope you grab some popcorn and follow along.

We traveled to Disney World Tuesday, February 27, 2018 - Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Resort: Pop Century (1st stay here)

Three things we were looking forward to the most from this trip...
Opening day of the Flower & Garden Festival, Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridan and spending time together!

Maddie took a picture of my Minnie ears.
IMG_5413.jpg

I love this close up of some flowers with water droplets.
IMG_5414.jpg

We made our way over to the Japan pavilion which is Maddie's favorite pavilion. We stopped at the Hanami booth and we shared the Frushi.
IMG_5418.jpg

IMG_5420.jpg

Always a nice snack during Flower & Garden. We walked around the shop in Japan. I was surprised that Maddie didn't buy anything. She decided to just make note of some items she might what to pick up later in the trip.
IMG_5422.jpg

IMG_5423.jpg

After Japan we must have put the camera down as I don't have any other photos until we reach Mexico. I know that we were having a good time seeing everything and soaking up the atmosphere.
I loved this display in the Mexico pavilion.
IMG_5424.jpg

The Three Caballeros had a pretty long line as the park was getting very busy at this point but we decided to wait anyway. We ride this any chance we get. After the ride we walked back toward Future World.
My favorite view! The flower quilt and floating planters are so lovely.
IMG_5428.jpg

We had a fast pass for Spaceship Earth coming up so we started our walk toward the front of the park.

Really enjoying your report. I'm tempted by the 'Behind the Seeds' tour too. How was it?
So glad you are enjoying it. The Behind the Seeds tour was great. We really liked everything about it. It was informative, fun and not very expensive. I would recommend going on the first tour of the day because it does get hot in there. It made us want to do other behind the scenes tours in the future. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Spaceship Earth!
IMG_5443.jpg

We still had a little time before our Spaceship Earth FP+ so we went to MouseGear.
IMG_5445.jpg

Maddie was thinking about buying one of these Aliens but she decided on a different plush later on in the trip.
IMG_5448.jpg

I should have bought this set, Duffy and Shellie May for Easter! They are too cute!

We rode Spaceship Earth and decided to head back to Pop Century for a rest. It was almost 4pm at this point anyway.

Next up: Last of Wednesday

Maddie and I headed straight to our room when we arrived back at Pop Century as we both could use some downtime. When we got into the room we noticed that it wasn't cleaned. We didn't opt out of Mousekeeping as I really enjoy having a clean room on vacation and thought it would have been cleaned by now. I called them and the cast member said she could send someone to clean. I asked her if she could wait until about 5:30pm as we were going to rest a little while. She said that was fine.

We decided to go to Disney Springs after our rest and then have an early night because we were pretty tired. As we were leaving the room the Mousekeeper came to clean. We thanked her (I left a tip in a decorated envelope on the bed) and walked to the buses.

Maddie and I didn't take any photos at Disney Springs because we were just enjoying checking out the shops and atmosphere. It is such a fun place in the evenings. We were both getting pretty hungry and decided on Earl of Sandwich. I got the turkey club and Maddie got a grilled cheese.

After a yummy meal we made our way back to the bus depot and to Pop for a good nights rest!

Next Up: Magic Kingdom and Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridan!

Thursday, March 1, 2018 - Magic Kingdom and Afternoon Tea at The Grand Floridan

Maddie and I got up nice and early because we wanted to arrive at Magic Kingdom before rope drop. We didn't have to wait long for a Magic Kingdom bus to arrive and it was a double bus. After we went through security and entered the park Maddie and I enjoyed our walk up main street as we headed to Starbucks. Then we found a seat outside by the Plaza.

It was a nice quiet spot to have our breakfast and watch the people rush by. We also saw the castle show from here. After our breakfast we wanted to walk through the castle toward our first ride without a fast pass, Small World.
Here are some castle shots!

The tile work inside the castle is so pretty! We both love how it tells the story of Cinderella.

We made our way to Small World and walked right on.

After we rode Small World Maddie and I decided to try our luck at Haunted Mansion without a fast pass. When we arrived at Haunted Mansion it was posted as a 5 minute wait so we walked through the standby line taking lots of photos along the way.

This is my favorite ride in all of Disney World. I just love everything about it. Onto Maddie's favorite ride with a FP+, Seven Dwarf's Mine Train. We had a great time as usual. Our next FP+ is for Winnie the Pooh so we decided to check out the different Fantasyland shops and Big Top Souvenirs. I bought a mystery pack of pins and we sat down to open them to see what we got. Then we rode Winnie the Pooh. We headed over to watch Philharmagic and then rode Under the Sea with the Little Mermaid with our third FP+.

Maddie and I decided to walk over to Tomorrowland to see if we could ride The People Mover.

Your pictures are great. I have wanted to afternoon tea, so I can’t wait to read about your experience.
Thank you! Can you believe they were all taken with an iPhone? My daughter took most of the photos so I will pass on the praise. Afternoon tea is coming up today!

On our walk over to Tomorrowland Maddie took this great photo. You can see that the crowd was picking up.
IMG_5539.jpg

We jumped in the line for The People Mover and soon we were enjoying the ride. Maddie wanted to do some pin trading so that was next on our agenda. We went into all of the shops in Tomorrowland to do some trading and then we headed toward the hub.
I love the fountain in the hub.

IMG_5544.jpg

Next we walked into Adventureland and did some pin trading there.
IMG_5546.jpg

We needed to head out of the park to catch the monorail to The Grand Floridian for our afternoon tea. We arrived a little early so we walked around the resort and settled in the lobby to relax a bit before our reservation time.

It is tea time! I believe this is our forth time having tea at The Grand Floridan. A lot of folks comment that it isn't the same as a full English tea and I am sure that they are correct. However, we love this experience. The tea is excellent, the food is just enough and the atmosphere is awesome. We always enjoy our time here and Maddie always chooses this as her one ADR pick.

Maddie orders:
The Cheshire Tea -
First Course
Selection of exotic fruits and imported cheeses
-
Second Course
Medley of Finger Sandwiches accompanied with Berries, Cheese and Lavosh
-
Third Course
Buttery Scone and Jam Tart
-
Finale
Choice of delicate House-Made Pastries, Strawberries and Creme, or English Trifle

Accompanied by your choice of tea

I order:
The Bedfordshire Tea -
First Course
Medley of Finger Sandwiches accompanied with Berries, Cheese and Lavosh
-
Second Course
Buttery Scone and Jam Tart
-
Finale
Choice of delicate House-Made Pastries, Strawberries and Creme, or English Trifle

Accompanied by your choice of tea
(charge for additional pots of tea)

These are the teas we ordered. I had the Nutty Chocolate and Maddie had the Princess Breakfast Tea. We both loved the tea we ordered.

Nutty Chocolate - rich Assam is a perfect partner to the flavour of delicious chocolate and creamy hazelnuts like a praline truffle
Princess Breakfast Tea - South African Organic Rooibos flavored with vanilla beans and a hint of strawberry. This tea is rich in antioxidants and vitamins and is naturally decaffeinated
IMG_5553.jpg

Maddie and I always share the fruit and cheese plate that comes with her Cheshire Tea. It was very fresh and delicious.
IMG_5554.jpg

IMG_5552.jpg

Next is our selection of sandwiches. Maddie was able to substitute sandwiches from the children's tea option. She had tuna, peanut butter and jelly, two ham and cheese and a cucumber(not pictured because she ate it as soon as it arrived). For anyone who is a bit of a picky eater, this is a good option.
IMG_5555.jpg

My sandwiches, chicken curry, egg salad, cucumber and a goat cheese. They both came with an onion jam tart.
IMG_5558.jpg

The server brought out the tiered tray with our scones and other items.
IMG_5556.jpg

This time Maddie ordered the Strawberries and Cream for dessert and I ordered the Lemon Blueberry Trifle.
IMG_5557.jpg

IMG_5560.jpg

Everything was wonderful! We had a lovely time together. Our server was fantastic and I feel it was worth the cost. Maddie and I got to spend quality time away from the parks and away from electronics. We had some great mother and daughter conversations. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

Up Next: Back to the hotel to rest and another park perhaps?
