From what I've heard the Molly Brown has completely burned down :( (Take this with a grain of salt, I don't know for a fact).

Thank God no one was hurt.

Real shame when a Disney attraction bursts into flame. As for the ship Molly Brown I have this to say: So much for unsinkable....

I saw this earlier today on DLPinfo as well.
Thanks for posting it here.
I am VERY happy that everyone is OK and no one was injured.
Very smart and fast thinking who ever decided to use to Keelboats for the rescue! :sohappy:
Who says the Keelboats are useless!!!

Now that everyone is OK. I want to say that I am really sad that this resort has taken another setback. It just can't seem to catch a break.
I really hope that they can find it in the budget to rebuild (or repair depending on if it has been destroyed or not) the Molly Brown back to it's original glory.

I have just check a bunch websites with Paris headlines and none mention anything about a fire at Disneyland. Not even a mention on the AP. Something that big would be mentioned some where someplace.

I kind of wondered that myself. If the fire was that bad it would have made one of the news services. And they would not have re-opened Frontierland that quickly due to smoke and I would guess a fire investigation.

Quoted from www.Clickmagique.com:

"According to news from several sources the paddle steamer Molly Brown on the Rivers of the Far West caught fire during normal operation shortly before 11.00 am today, Monday 16th. All guests were evacuated successfuly from the boat by means of the Keelboats (which are no longer used but still kept operational and can be freely steered on the waterways). It seems the boat was located somewhere between the docks at the rear of the Rivers of the Far West and Phantom Manor / Geyser Country when the accident happened. As a precaution management closed down all of Frontierland immediately and evacuated all guests from the land and its attractions.

The fire was extinguished shortly by the firemen of the resort who got extra support from the firemen of the stations surrounding the resort which all rushed in by means of the backstage road leading along the perimeter of Frontierland to the parking lot in front of the costuming building. But even then there was at least one report that still spoke of heavy smoke visible from outside Frontierland as late 1.30 pm. After initially two different lines of speculation regarding the scope of damage (one that the Molly Brown would be heavily damaged, the other that it never really caught fire but only heavy smoke was caused in the motor area) latest reports indicate that the top level with the steering cab may be totally destroyed or even the whole boat has been burned out by the fire. First word has come out pointing to a technical defect as the cause of the fire.

According from reports that reached us at 3.00 pm Frontierland and its attractions (with the exception of the paddle steamers) had been reopened by that time already. The guests which were onboard of the paddle-steamer seem to have been brought according to differing reports either into the Lucky Nugget Saloon or the Silver Spur Steakhouse. No injuries have been reported."

Really sad news but doubt it has burned down after all DLP.info is hardly the greatest place for brilliant accurate reports of much lol. I am glad the keelboats still go now if only they would bring them back into operation, lets just hope Molly Brown will be returned to former glory sooner rather than later, afterall they have just over a month till the summer season begins this is gonna be a setback, but now we may get to see Mark Twain on the Rivers of the Far West a bit more maybe.
