Modified Monorail routes in effect during late May

I love how the pixie dusters whine about peoples sense of 'entitlement'. Yeah people are entitled to use the amenities that they PAID FOR in their room rate.

I love the attitude that its ok to short change people cuz it's Diznee doing it.

Do you really think Disney is going to love you more for sticking up for their abusive business practices. No they are simply gonna laugh at the 'useful idiots' who enable them.

Somehow its ok for Disney to force you to plan your meals six months out and rides 2 months out. But they can take a major amenity offline with no notice or compensation

Yup thats the textbook definition of an abusive relationship.

It's a good thing you're not in charge of anything, anywhere, that has to do with matinence. God forbid something terrible happens to you on some attraction that wasn't properly maintained. Yea, I can't believe Disney would shortchange you for your safety. How silly of them...

So guests at the Contemporary are screwed - And i'm pretty sure Disney is not reducing the price on the rooms to compensate. Nice really nice

We've stayed at the CR on multiple trips with some type of planned outages on the monorail. I can verify there is no reduction on the price of the room nor any other type of adjustment. There is always however a nice sign that says something to the effect of "Making your experience more Magical. We apologize for any inconvenience".

If you acctually read the article, you would know that the Express line will stop at the contemporary too. So all of your post are all invalid.

Yes you can and I always DID, But a major part of the PRICE of a Contemporary room is the availability of the monorail and Disney as usual takes it down with no notice and in effect takes away one of the major reasons one of the major reasons we stay at monorail resorts without providing compensation for the loss of a major amenity.

Honestly, we're talking about a 6.5 hour disruption in the middle of the day that may affect one or two days of a family's vacation. Outages in transportation systems happen. This may be a break/fix type of thing that could not have been planned farther in advance. If Splash Mountain or some other main attraction goes down for 6.5 hours everyone doesn't get a refund on the price of their ticket for the day.

We stay at the CR on most trips and have a special needs adult son that uses a wheel chair and I don't see this particular outage as something to complain about.

Anyone that knows anything about CR would know that it's biggest selling point is the ability to be at the park gate within 10 min by walking. You sometimes wait longer for a monorail then it now seems to breakdown once you get on it. Walking is the way to go, plus the security entrance is quick and easy.

I'm not sure why anyone would ever take the monorail to MK from CR. Makes no sense to me at all. And since it is going from CR to TTC, you still have full access to monorail to EPCOT.

Having been fortunate enough to have stayed at the CR about 20 times I'm fairly sure I know the biggest selling points, advantages and disadvantages of staying there.

Walking is not always the way to go for people with serious physical and mental disabilities. While possibly inconvenient, Disney always provides other means of transportation (watercraft or bus) in these situation.

Is this the same poster who was bragging about his "stamp" a couple of years ago in some other thread? The intent of that "stamp" is to qualify someone of having enough knowledge of a discipline to be held accountable and prevents that person from commenting on disciplines on which he has little knowledge.

It's been super fun this year getting stuck on the monorail at least 50% of the time eating into my park time. The monorail is fine and all but nobody should be planning the trips around it.

For me, it's because I love the monorail.

It's literally my most favorite attraction at WDW.

Sure, practically speaking, it makes much more sense to walk, but from an experience standpoint, the hotel with the monorail literally running thru the middle of it, it's a big selling point of the resort.

Disney of course has this covered. The outage is only minimally impactful due to the express picking up the slack.

Only downside: it's a much shorter ride on the way to the MK now... ;)

That was my point. It's 6 hours on one or two days when most people are at the parks and there is still monorail service available.

Disney has always been very accommodating, more so in the past than today. In the current litigious atmosphere, they now provide what is required by law to avoid being accused of providing too much or too little accommodation, depending what side of that fence the
aggrieved party is on. I'll leave it at that as there are multiple threads on that subjct.

Technically it IS advanced notice but to DVC'ers its not enough to cancel and reschedule without points going into holding.

Also not enough time to reschedule airfare on most carriers without penalty.

30-45 days notice is the 'industry standard'

Hey 'they are only tourists the'll take what we give em and like it'

Who in their right mind would even think about cancelling a trip to CR because the monorail has degraded service for a few hours on a few days????? No one.
