Moderate Resorts?

I can't decide between Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach. Any suggestions? I think French Quarter doesn't have dates the days we want to go, but if it is worth it we could change our days. Which resort is best?

The thing we seem to care most about is the transportation and theming of the resort. Does Coronado Springs have long bus rides? Which would be the shortest distances to the majority of the parks?

Not to be rude, but why stay there if you actually lose the Free Dining perk? I could see if it was cheaper or something, but losing a perk and not gaining it in another form seems weird.

I never saw the original poster saying that they were planning to go during free dining. If that were the case to would not suggest the Dolphin. But I didn't assume that the dates they were looking at we're free dining.

If you look at allear.net, you'll see photo galleries of the resorts' rooms, landscaping, pools, food courts, etc. They also have a rate and review section you can look at. Looking at Google Earth, (to me) CBR, CSR, and POR look roughly about the same size all the way around. POFQ shares buses with POR most of/some of the time, so think of that, too. You can see how close they are to each park, too. The Unofficial Guide has a chart with travel times from parks to the resorts that might help you. I don't have it handy, but that book might be good to buy.

Honestly, I've never had a problem with the transportation at POR, even if they do share sometimes. As with any resort, I just recommend not going at the "conventional times." Most people seem to leave in the 9 to 10/11 hours. So we just left a little earlier. And I think someone mentioned how the bus schedule works...North gets picked up first except for AK (South). I honestly don't remember having to take the bus to get to the main area, but it is a big resort so I could see some people wanting to.

And truly, I think the theming is wonderful, best of the three, and that's again going back to my original post about loving the river, relaxing feeling, ect. But the others do have good theme too.

No
we have stayed at Caribbean beach and coronado. I think i enjoyed coronado better, but had no problem with either. we have a short 4 days planned at POR later this month, so I cant help there. The pools at both CB and CS were great. Our kids loved both (as did we). I really dont think you can go wrong.
