Moderate resorts?

My husband and I are thinking of staying in a moderate resort in November to take advantage of the free dining. I used to stay in POR (when it was Dixie Landings) when I was little and I have nothing but good memories. I'm not sure if it was really that magical or if it was just because I was a kid and everything in Disney is magical at that age:) We will have an 8 month old with us so we have to take that into consideration. Any reccomendations on Moderate resorts ?We really want to be able to relax and enjoy ourselves with our baby so any advice on the resorts would be appreciated!! Thanks!:)

I'd recommend CSR! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers a few deluxe amenities at a mod price.

Here are a few of the extras.

CSR has queen beds while the other mods have doubles like the values. The rooms were all renovated in 2009 and are gorgeous.

CSR has a fitness center, spa, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night club.

CSR has a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods but only has one sink.

CSR has the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great.

I say POR is magical. I've stayed there three times (both sections), and loved it every time. I wasn't all that impressed with CBR. I've never stayed at eitehr POFQ or CSR.

On my last trip in 2009, I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge due to all the discounts being offered at the time. Even with all its beauty (and I did love WL) I still found myself missing POR. And, I have nothing but exitement to be "downgrading" back down to that moderate for my next trip in Feb.

I second this & can't say enough good things about Coronado Springs. It's by far me & my wife's favorite! Great layout, great rooms since the refurbishment, good food options (Pepper Market is great once you get used to how it works)!

In addition to the points made above, putting the little one in a stroller & walking around the lake might be fun. I recall there being a decently large kiddie pool you might be able to sit in with baby on your lap. (We saw a family doing this with their baby our last trip & thought 'Baby's first swim' was a cute idea.) Also, being a convention resort, we've found it to be a little less 'over-run' by rowdy children, which might be good for your little one.

Hope you have a great trip!!

With a little one I would stay at French Quarter because if it's smaller size it's easier to get around with all of the stuff that a little one requires.

I recommend you choose based on the theming you like best. We chose Caribbean Beach Resort last year to get that island feel, and we did just that. It was wonderful with the steel drum music and the "beach" with hammocks, etc. We loved everything about it.

Exactly, we stayed at POFQ last march and it would be a perfect place to have a small child because everything is close and small. The bus stops there first, so no long waits for the bus. We love it there!

I stayed at POR last year, and while it is a beautiful resort, I found the layout to be rather spread out and confusing. If it weren't for the Christmas lights in my neighbor's window, I would still be wandering around looking for my room! I understand the POFQ is smaller, so that might be a consideration with an infant.
