Ok, here's a question...

Of the Moderate Hotels, which do you prefer and can you please give specific reasons why...

I've been to Caribbean Beach a long time ago and don't really remember it...
I went to Coronado in October and loved it!
I've never been to either Riverside or the French Quarter.

I'm booking a trip in February and was curious which one to choose.

Thanks to any that can help

We had Port Orleans recommended to us by a friend, took a chance and booked. We really enjoyed it :)
We have been there twice now - the boat ride down to Downtown Disney is very good, the walks along the river, a good sized pool for the kids (if you don't want to do the water parks).
The only down side was the quality of the on site cafe :hurl: Breakfast was very poor and very pricey.
As the resort has now combined with Dixie Landings (which is twice as big) the part we stayed in is now called The French Quarter.

I have been to Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. I like Caribbean Beach better. The food court area is great and I love the whole beach atmosphere. I just remember it being a great resort Coronado Springs is a great resort too but I like CB more.
I'd stay at eithert one again. :sohappy:

Personally, I am a fan of Dixie Landings (Now PO: Riverside). It generally has been voted the best of the moderates by fans. It has a lot of theming for a moderate and has IMHO the best of the food courts on property. My one caution is that in the past they have had some issues with the buses. My parents will not be staying there the next time they go as a result of their June 01 trip. I think this has been fixed but I haven't stayed there since Nov 00.

I am not a big fan of PO:FQ, Coronado and Caribbean for the following reasons:
PO:FQ: Smaller and now no sitdown restaurant.
Coronado: IMO too far away from everything but AK, the food court has an extra surcharge, and designed for Conventions although excellent theming.
Caribbean: Too spread out. Sit down restaurant is just an alcove where the food is brought over from the food court kitchens through the crowd.

I recommend the French Quarter to people. The food court is nice, the pool is nice, and the resort is small. You never have to walk far to get anywhere. You also have all the amenities at Riverside just a short walk away (or boat ride or bus ride). Another big plus is the boat ride to DTD. It is a great trip.
