Moana Meet & Greet

I think the outfit looks great. The only issue I have is the hairstyle, Moana's is seen as more 'wavy' and less 'curly' in the promo pics/trailers, but for the first day it's amazing, and I doubt that kids meeting her will notice her minor hairstyle difference.
The like is for your avatar lol ;)

Moana hasn't been out for more than a week and they still managed to whitewash her o_O

It seems like they would have to make Maui a face character in order to prevent the backlash they would get if he is a fur character.

For folks upset they do this same nonsense with aladdin and jasmine. It's awful it makes no sense and it really gets you out of the "magic" of meeting the character. Disney Parks Casting you have the resources and money to cast correctly please don't make lazy decisions like this.

It still doesn't change the fact that she's too light for the roll

Are there acrobatics involved? :D

She may be of mixed ancestry and that may or may not make her casting appropriate, since we are on shifting grounds with racial typecasting and cultural appropriation awareness.

College Humor had a funny video of someone who's one-eighth Korean before a board that discusses in great detail just how Korean and/or Asian he can claim to be and do in name of his cultural heritage. Then someone who's one-eighth Black goes before a similar board and they all just instantly and definitively claim, "You're Black."

So, if that CM in the picture has a Polynesian parent and a Caucasian parent but takes more after her White parent... can she 'play Polynesian'?

Even if she was Polynesian, the character that they were trying to cast clearly has a darker complexion than her

She can play a Polynesian for sure. But can she play Moana who is far darker than her in the film and who this girls skin tone bears no resemblance? No.

Folks: I am hearing rumors that she will no longer meet at Hollywood Studios after 4/16 and sometime after that she will move to Magic Kingdom.

This is in addition to another rumor that Nick Wilde & Judy Hopps would be moving from Move It Shake It Dance & Play It (in Magic Kingdom) to Epcot Character Spot. Keep abreast to both!
