MNSSHP: Yay or Nay?

Hello WDWMagic friends!

I have been to the World 5 times, and all 5 of the trips have been in the summer. But this year, we are considering going in September and experiencing MNSSHP. Now, I've read a lot of stuff about the party. I know that the wait times are much shorter than usual, and more of the obscure characters meet n greet with guests (i.e. Abu, The Villains, The Seven Dwarfs, Jack and Sally), plus you get a different parade, fireworks, and a Villains Mix n Mingle Show. So, the question I have... Is it worth the money? I think I should also mention that we have a DD9, and a DS13. They love to try new things, hate waiting in lines, and love meeting new characters, so I think this party would appeal to them. They're always obsessed with anything Disney.;) Also, do you guys think it is worth experiencing more than once? We are considering if we do go, we would do MNSSHP twice, but would once be enough? I would appreciate any input you have for me, and if you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to answer! Thanks!:)

I absolutely think it's worth it, especially if your family is into characters. Mine is, and there are many that cannot be met any other time of year (lines usually aren't too bad for most of them either!). Most all of the rides are walk ons too! The Boo to You parade is fantastic, one of the best Disney does IMO. The unlimited candy isn't too bad either :)

Yes, Yes, and did I mention Yes.....we have been numerous times, and it is such a great special treat, its fun to watch everyone in costume, as well as the parade and attractions.

Yes, especially with kids your age. It is a chance for the entire family to dress up and have fun! The entire park feels transformed. Besides all the extras, I love the fact that the atmosphere is completely different. I can't describe how fun it is to walk down Main Street with spooky festive music playing, while all the buildings glow fun bright colors. The parade and fireworks are great as well- both are energetic and catchy.

Heading for the great escape.
I have been a few times, and generally enjoy it. As has been said great parade, excellent fireworks (though not as good as DL) and most of the rides are accessible fairly quickly. The lines for the sweets and treats can be excessive and Im not a fan of the offerings being handed out so cant recommend that side of the evening.

We went for the first time last year and it was awesome. We didn't end up on too many rides because of the parade, candy, characters, and the (AWESOME) fireworks. The lines are not bad for rides, but there is so much to do that is new we just skipped a lot of them. The haunted mansion does get a bit of a line! You should do it for sure- at least once!

Best parade in the park, excellent fireworks show, and just tons of people-watching. If you choose an early weeknight, you might avoid long lines as well, although don't count on that on a Friday or late October night. In any case, well worth the money/skipping a day MK ticket.

We are going for the first time this October...can't wait! I just wish that Disney would release the dates already! I am 8 days away from my 180 day Mark to make dining reservations and would like to know the party dates so that I don't make conflicting reservations.

If you look at MK calendar for Oct., any day that the park hours end at 7 PM should be the party.

Pretty certain you can just take a look at park hours, if the park closes at 7pm then it is on as far as I am aware!

With the age and "WDW experience level" of your kids, I'd say it's highly recommended! I hope to take my kids when they're older (and can stay up late enough to really experience the party) and have a few WDW trips under their belt, as well...
