sorry if this was posted before. we're going to the party tonight, & heard rain is in the forecast. don't know how bad it'll be, but if the event is cancelled, does Disney offer refunds?

Typically no. However, in the case of complete wash outs - ie. heavy downpour all night that cancels all of the live entertainment, people have managed to get comp tickets for another night.

I don't believe they cancel the event because of rain. I have been in the rain several times. They just cancel the parade, the stage shows, and the fireworks.

But there is still candy and M&GS so in Disney's opinion, it's all good!

My supervisor went a few weeks ago on a complete wash out. All of the entertainment was cancelled and she mentioned it was packed. Kind of felt cheated.

I made the mistake of skipping the 9pm parade at MVMCP (usually good advice, crowds smaller at 10:30). There was only 20% chance of rain after all. Guess where the 20% fell at 10:30, cancelling the parade? A long line formed outside of City Hall. I didn't get in line because my schedule didn't allow for returning to another party on another night. Won't make that mistake again.

There's a list of what gets pulled first depending on how bad the weather is. Should the majority be cancelled city hall may offer another night depending on what did run and how bad the weather was.

If I recall the list is something like

Move entertainment undercover
Move entertainment inside
Try to run at least one stage show
Try to run one parade - dry version
Try to run one parade - wet version
Fireworks

Depending on what entertainment runs depends if comps will be offered towards the end of the night. If I recall a wet parade or no parade may trigger the comp alert.

I've had comp tickets after politely asking guests relations on a MNSSHP wash out twice now but please don't go in assuming it's a right.

I don't know if the party is happening again tomorrow, 10/28, but we leave on 10/29. just hope it's not too bad tonight.

All the remaining parties are sold out, so another ticket seems unlikely. We're also going tonight, and looking at the forecast I think most things will happen (looks more like scattered showers than a total washout), but the schedule may be blown all to hell.

Do yourself a favor and just pack a poncho... Have been before when it rained quite a bit, the headless horseman was cancelled because apparently it wasn't safe for the horse, but I think at least one of the parades did happen though I the characters on the ship didn't seem to be in the same places as other times.

But don't expect a refund... don't even expect another ticket.... If you try you might be able to sell your tickets on craigslist because the parties are sold out and some people don't mind the rain.

If it's a total rainout and all the entertainment is canceled they will refund your money. It's easier though just to visit the front desk at the resort rather than city hall. I have never had a problem getting one. Thankfully it's only happened twice once for the Halloween party and once from Christmas.
