They push having the horse run, one party last year he went down on the turn in Liberty Square, after that they slowed him down to a brisk trot. Amazing no one got hurt.
I couldn't imagine a horse falling. though I don't deal with them, or get around them often, it would be pretty upsetting to see an animal that big take a tumble....

Oh, it was, that horse and rider slid toward the crowd on the turn and it could have been very ugly but they stopped before they got to the crowd. You know it is the little kids that line the front edge of the route.

After that they trotted for the rest of the parties. Don't know what will happen this year but I think the days of the full gallop are done

We went to one of the September MNSSHP dates last year and missed the headless horseman :( As an equestrian, I can't imagine riding through so many variables and would love to meet the brave performer that plays the HH!
