MNSSHP Photo Trip Report - 9/15

Hey all. The DW and I went to the first night of the MNSSHP on 9/15. We left work around 4:00 and got to the parks right around 4:20. Here's what was waiting for us at the toll booth.

We rode the monorail over. They are still working on the bus stop at MK.

Some decorations at the front of the park.

Even though we were there at 4:30, these signs were already out and they were handing out wristbands.

I was surprised because I thought I read they wouldn't be handing them out until 6:00. We were going to use our APs to get in but we didn't need them. The park was hot and sticky. At that point, we were glad we didn't wear costumes.

I love this pic of Walt and the castle. Nothing to do with Halloween, just like it.

We did all of Fantasyland before 6:00. We walked on Snow White, Philharmagic, Peter Pan, Small World and Pooh. It was a great time to be there. We watched them set up some of the decorations for the evening. We then headed to Tomorrowland since that was the only place you could get a real meal after 6:00 (oh besides Peco's Bills).

We waited for 7:00 so that the candy stations would offically open up. The Ghost Host announced a couple of times to let everyone know that the party was coming up and you had to have tickets to be in the park. I liked hearing his voice in Tomorrowland. At 7:00, everyone lined up for the mad dash to candy. One nice CM told us that they would load you up at the end of the night with candy anyway and she suggested that we just ride early and often. That's what we did. There was a huge line in front of CoP for candy but we walked on Buzz, not 50 feet away. Pretty cool. When entering SM, we saw a CM stopping a family from entering saying they needed a wristband from the party to ride. I'm glad they were enforcing the rules. It also made us feel exclusive. We happily walked on to SM.

We then made our way to Toontown to go Mickey hunting.

We knew we'd find him here. All dressed up for halloween too.

We then went on the path between Toontown and Tomorrowland where they had an Alice in Wonderland candy trail. There were 4 different stops along the way with candy at each one. I liked how each candy station had a different theme thoughout the park. Mmmmm, candy.

Random night shots walking through Tomorrowland and Fantasyland on our way to HM:

POOH!!!

By the time we got to HM, it started to rain pretty heavy.

We rode it twice (it's the DWs favorite) not thinking about fireworks. We almost missed them. Since we were on the Libery Square side, I didn't get a lot of great photos of Hallowishes. I prefer to be over on the Tomorrowland bridge. The show was OK but we both said we like the Christmas Wishes better.

Walking back towards Jungle Cruise, this was out front.

We decided to get our faces painted since it was free and no one was waiting. We got this great CM with a special talent for this sort of thing. I was a little hesitant since they had a sign with all the faces you could get and none of them appealed to me. I asked her if she could do Pooh. She said she could but little did I know. She said that Pooh used to be one of the choices but they discontinued it. Now that someone asked, she actually was enjoying it. She handed me the mirror after she was done and said, "better get food! Looks like Pooh Bear's hungry!".

We rode POTC and then waited for the 10:15 parade. We actually liked the parade better than the fireworks (and we're not big parade people). The start was WAY cool!

We then walked on Splash Mountain and BTMR and stayed on for two rides each. No waiting. Of course it was 11:30 but who cares?! MK is a magical place, especially at night.

We then made our way out to the central core:

Main Street:

Walking out below the train station, they had a "Snickers Candy Trough" to top off you're bags. They gave out a pretty big handful so you didn't go away hungry.

And a perfect end of night shot at the train station:

And we got to ride in the front car on the monorail back. Such a magical evening.

Thank you for the great pics. It looks like you kids had a great time! Do you know if they have candy for people with "special dietary needs", like sugar free?

Never asked but I don't think anything was sugar free there. :D The CMs had their hands full just handing out candy to the long lines. I can't see them fitting this request in as well.

FANTASMIC photos!!! We'll be at MNSSHP on the 2nd and 5th----we've done it before and know that we'll have a great time. Looks like you HAD a GREAT time, too!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Awesome photos! I will be there for the party on October 27th, seeing those pictures has made me even more excited to be going. Thanks so much! I have a question though. I am sure this has been posted somewhere, but how do they get everyone else out of the park who does not have a ticket? Does everyone have to leave, and then those with a wristband can come back in, or do they just sort of make people leave and those with a wristband can just stay? Thanks!

Yay! I'm so excited about the party now! :sohappy: Thanks for the great pictures :D

I hope the park is as empty on Friday because I plan on being there at 4pm riding early and getting all our favorite rides out of the way before the party :D

Thanks again!
