Is it really crowded on 10/31? We are arriving on 10/30 and didn't want to go that night since we will be getting up at 4:00 a.m. for flight. 10/31 is our only other choice.

we’ve attended MNSSHP on 10/31 a few times, & it does get packed. seems like it’s more crowded than it was during the day.
it doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time. there’s plenty to do. rides, M&G, trick or treating, fireworks & parade.
as busy as it gets, we would still go. don’t let the crowds bother you & have a good time.

It always seems to sell out, but it shouldn't be any more crowded than the other sold-out event dates.

****EDIT****These dates are from 2017. However, if you compare them to the correct 2018 dates below you can see the price increases. Otherwise, please move along.

However, tickets are the most pricey that night:
  • Oct. 31 (adults/children): $115 / $110
as opposed to other dates:
  • Aug. 25, 29 & Sept. 1, 7, 10 (cancelled), 12, 17, 24 (adults/children): $74 / $69
  • Sept. 19, 26 (adults/children): $79 / $74
  • Sept. 15, 22, 29 & Oct. 1 (adults/children): $88 / $83
  • Oct. 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 & Nov. 1 (adults/children): $94 / $89
  • Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27, 29 (adults/children): $99 / $94
  • Oct. 31 (adults/children): $115 / $110

I wouldnt call it insane. Yes they sell the event night out because who wouldnt want to attend MNSSHP on Halloween night? Its the night to trick or treat and have lots of fun in or out of costume. The lines for M&G's will be long and spots to view the parade, castle show and fireworks, will fill in fast. If you think you can make it work, it will be worth it. The event limits ticket sales so the crowds still arent as bad as a park holiday or closure day.

We did Halloween Night a few years ago. Don't remember it being more crowded than any other nights that sell out. Just crazy expensive...and no discounted tickets for AP or DVC. I arrive that day for W&D Half. Debating if I want to attend.

Thanks for setting me straight! I did a quick search while working. I should have checked before posting.

Like a few other poster's stated, it should be no more crowed than any other sold out date. Theoretically, Disney only sells so many tickets to the special events. Of course, I wouldn't put it past them to increase that number for a day like Halloween. I have heard of numbers of 50,000 to 75,000 people for a sold out show, but I don't believe Disney releases those numbers officially.

I have been twice on Halloween night (last time in 2016) and I found that even sold out most of the rides were walk on or near it. Most of the people seem to be concentrated in the hub for the fireworks and doing the special meet and greets. We've only ever really taken the opportunity to ride the rides to our heart's content and we've had a blast each time. The crowds weren't that bad.

Sold out party nights are like a 6-7 out of 10 on the crowd calendar. And most ppl are in line for photos with special characters.

Does not even come close in comparison to say normal business hours during christmas / new years when parks closures occur due to guest size capacity.

MNSSHP is a fantastic event IMO.

We attended 10/31 in 2013, 2015, and 2017. We avoid Main Street and character/candy lines, watch the fireworks from behind the Castle, catch the second parade and stay until close. Most rides are walk on. It’s a fun crowd, not like a normal crowded day.

WE did MNSSHP on 10/31 in 2016. I was expecting it to be horribly rowdies from everything I had read. I was rather surprised to find that for us, it wasn’t as busy as we thought it would be. We got to the park early and changed into our costumes at the park. We got our pictures done early before lines started and found the lines for rides way less than they were earlier in the day. There were lines for certain characters and special passport photographers doing special Halloween shots, but for us, that’s what we were there for. The parade and fireworks were terrific as usual! I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again, I mean, it was very special to have been there ON Halloween 😊

We've been on Halloween as well as other nights when it was sold out. The biggest difference I noticed on Halloween were the number of people that seem willing to stick it out until park closing. On a non-Halloween sell out night the crowd seemed to thin a bit after the first parade and fireworks... that didn't seem to be as noticeable on Halloween so I got the feeling that people going on Halloween are trying to stay longer. Take that with a grain of salt though although we usually do 2 parties a year we've never hit two that were sold out in the same year so my comparison of Halloween sellout and other sell out was from different years. Although we have done an actual Halloween twice (both of which were sold out).

Went ahead and ordered the tickets for Halloween night. $539.00 for 4 adults - expensive so hope it is worth it!

I am not sure 2017 sold out on Halloween night. It was crowded, but it was not as bad as we were expecting. The only time it was ever a problem was trying to find a spot for the early parade. We had to leave, so the second parade wasn't an option. It just seems like the right night to go. I know, I know, who doesn't want to do Halloween in August, but Halloween in the MK just always seems like the right time to do the Halloween party. You'll have a great time!
