MNSSHP in August

Just tentatively starting getting info together for our trip next August (very early I know but we want to because it's all part of the fun ) and we spotted the MNSSHP is on whilst we're there if it is like this year.

So my question is, is it worth it? What is the event like? We are taking our (will be) 5 and 6 year old so and I presume they'll get a kick out of it. Will it be manic or quiet because it's so early?

Being from the UK it would be great to experience Halloween done USA style.

We went in Sep 2016 and i was a lot of fun. My kids were to small for it at the time (3 and 1 1/2). They got to hot and with the rain we left early. But getting them dressed up and taking pictures was a lot of fun. And you get to see some things that they do not have during park hours. I want to do it again when my kids get older.
