MNSSHP: How do they manage making the non-tickets leave?

They also station cast member at store entrances and dining entrances. I once went to MNSSHP and went right to the Confectionery to get the Halloween cupcake, and all the doors were closed with cast members at both entrances. I inquired if the store was closed, and she asked if I had a band for the Halloween Party. I was surprised that they asked even for the shops, but as I had a band, I was let in. The only time I had the Confectionery completely to myself. Now when I go, I barely walk 10 feet before being asked to show my wristband (on the streets in every land, entrances to rides, gift shops, or buying anything at the popcorn/soda stands). Next will be the bathrooms. ;)

I wasn't hounded or anything. Mostly, it's a line of cast member asking everyone to raise your arm up to show the wrist band. I don't even think about it anymore.

They also walk the entire length of MSUSA before the first Boo to You parade doing a wristband check for all those watching. They make everyone show their wristband and if you don't have one they tell them they need to leave.
Hmm.. That's a new one. I don't ever recall having them ask to see bands when we've been waiting for the parade... We always catch the first one but usually position ourselves back toward the lake far away from mainstreet. I wonder why they don't do the back part of the parade route.

I'm virtually always near Town Square for BTY parade in order to photograph it with MSUSA and Cinderella Castle as backdrop. It might be a geography thing were they've already swept the outer parts of the park and this is a final sweep down MS for those who might have camped out to try and watch the parade. In the area I typically watch they've been doing this for MNSSHP and MVMCP for a few years now.

My guess, with the Magic Band, after 7pm, they would have some type of estimate of how many "non-paid" MNSSHP people are still in the park - and maybe where they are located...

I would never try to sneak in, etc - I would never want to run the risk of being "Banned for Life." Can you imagine?

Of course the upside of being banned for life is the savings it would generate.

Two years ago we were leaving as MNSSHP was starting. We had promised our kids they could stop by Confectionary for one last treat after we saw Mickey. Line to Mickey took longer than expected so party was starting when we finished. They would not let us in any stores without the bracelet. Our kids were not happy! We are going next month and when I asked my daughter what's on her "must do" list, without pausing she says "Confectionary!"

Side note - if you have party tickets as well as restaurant reservations around the cut-off (when they herd the non-party people out), beware. We had a reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner at 6:30. Walked in ten minutes beforehand. Lobby - mobbed. Finally checked in. Waited. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 15 minutes. Asked the hostess for an update. Her response: "Oh sorry. We have campers."

Huh? Campers?!?

It turns out, as she explained it to me, that "campers" are people without party reservations who hang out at their tables until after the party starts, thinking they are going to then be let loose in the party and will be able to do everything without paying. Or at least they will be able to experience some of the party without paying before getting snagged. For a 6:30 reservation, we didn't get seated until at least 7:15 or 7:30. Thanks, campers.

Last year when I attended I was in the area just behind the castle. A CM spotted a woman who did not have a wristband for the event. She asked her if she had a ticket, the woman said no. Then the CM told her she could not remain in the park and said she was going to walk her back to the exit. So the CM's are on the lookout for guests trying to cut in on the fun without paying.

As cynical as it sounds that was my favorite thing to do, sorry but no freeloaders

Yea the sad thing is, last year there were guests eating at a restaurant on Main St. who didnt "finish their meal" so they got to see the parade and fireworks for free
