So, how many people were upset about the rained out first Halloween Party? lol. I thought it was so funny, the fireworks started at 9:30, it was not raining at that point aside from a few sprinkles and a couple flashed a lightning. They could have so easily had the fireworks but they delayed it then about 10:15 or so they had the fireworks in the pouring rain lol. And of course both parades where cancelled, at least the first one was, I did not stick around for the second so I dont know if they went through with it or not.

Asside from that, The new decorations were awesome, the new lighting effects on MSUSA were cool to asside from the fact I did not see any floating ghosts and bats like last year on the buildings :( maybe it was because of the rain. I did see the projectors up but they were covered. They did not have fog effects eaither in the bushes by the castle :( Oh well.

Let me also add the Haunted Mansion was cool. :-)

Wow. Talk about a wet night! This was my first MNSSHP, so at least I got to see the second parade and fireworks. I was disappointed that there were no perimeter fireworks in the finale, but I guess I should be thankful we got to see any fireworks at all. Still a fun night overall, and the new HM is great!

We could not get near the fireworks to uncover the bunkers due to the lightning. Hence the delay. Lightning must be at least 7 miles away for us to do so.

You guys do a great job! :wave: I think many people forget that the safety of the people working on the shows needs to be considered first.

Well said. I think a lot of people forget that there are people running the firework shows and parades, and their safety has to be taken seriously. I am amazed that the fireworks teams at WDW can get shows fired every day with all the crazy weather in Orlando. A small delay is hardly a problem.
Thanks Boo52 and everyone, you are very much appreciated!! :) :wave:

Yeah, we were there with our best friends for the Not-So-Scary Party and river rafting :animwink: . We arrived just before 8pm and it was a flood! Rain was coming down VERY, VERY hard and soon there was massive Thunder and Lightning. Sometimes the thunder and lightning occured almost at the same time!:dazzle: The rain was unreal, water was up to our ankles in the streets of the Magic Kingdom. Fortunately we had brought our yellow ponchos to keep the rain off of our costumes and TG for Crocs!!!. After hearing the 8pm parade was canceled we decided that we really could not get any wetter so went to go trick-or-treating to score some candy for our friends teenagers. We sloshed around from Adventure Land to Tomorrow Land and got to Space Mountain about 9:20 pm when the rain let up for a while. There was still some doubt about whether either Hallowishes or the 2nd Parade would go on so we decided to hop on the TTA to get a break. While on the TTA (which was cool in the dark and rain), a second shower hit about 9:40 with somewhat cooler rain. There was little of the very impressive thunder and lightning of the pervious storm though, and you could see sky through the clouds, and this made us hopefull that we might be able to salvage a bit of the night. We got off the TTA and headed to the bridge between Town Square and TomorrowLand, just in front of the Tomorrowland Noodle Station (closed). We hit the bridge just as the fireworks started and thus got a great view of the abrieved Hallowishes which started about 10:10. Unfortunately the 2nd Boo-To-You parade started right after the fireworks so we were not able to get in a good positition for the Parade. Hey! At least we and our friends (who had never been to the party) got to see it. After the parade, everyone decided to bail out of the park so we did a quick run to Big Thunder and HM (the refurb of which is VERY cool) to let them clear out.

So, it was a bit of a bust as we had REALY hyped up the party to our friends and made our "Tigger's Tires, We pick up the Spare" bowling shirts (with image of Tigger bowling with a tire :animwink: ) but they were good sports and we at least got to salvage a bit out of the washed out evening.

I was on my way home from a friends house yesterday and pasted wdw on I-4 during all the crazy lighting and rain. I felt bad for the peeps in the parks and the first MNSSHP.

The rain was horrible last night. We ended up buying 2 umbrellas that we had to return this morning because they we defective and the rain came right through them! Most of MK was a flood the whole night and Alice's Candy Gauntlet didn't have candy until around 8:30 or 9:00 so we went back. We hated the rain but we still came back with 25lbs of candy again...and a free entry into the park valid for a year! :sohappy:

Trip report coming soon.

Any pics of your costumes? :wave:

Anybody got time for a few questions?
Were the characters out even in the rain?
What types of costumes were the characters wearing?
Were there any rare characters out?
Any updates to the parade this year?
Any pictures?
Was the candy good?
Thanks in advance, Dan

Ohhh man...I didn't go, but I was in the area that night XD We were supposed to go to Downtown Disney, but the weather interfered with those plans ^^;
Yeah, I was at MK earlier in the day, and saw the decorations & signs being set up. I was so jealous of everyone who had a ticket. Then when the rain started, my mom asked "Still jealous?" I feel really really bad for everyone at the party who was disappointed, but I really couldn't help but laugh ^^;;
