hello.. hello.

My first review is Stella Artois, a belgian delicacy served on draft at the Rose and Crown. It's a very strong light lager with a flavor all of its own. I'm a lager man, with my preferences being Heineken and Red Stripe, so I was a bit apprehensive at first in trying something new... especially when the bartender told me it was light.

Well that beer surprised everyone in the party who tasted it. Wilt Dasney, Photodave219, and myself. I now have a 6 pack in my fridge. This beer is extremely smooth and tasty, but its strength is something that most Americans don't expect in a beer. If you drink too many, it will come back and haunt you in the morning. It will haunt you like if an epileptic mule kicked you in the head. So enjoy this Delicacy of a beer like it is... in moderation and over an extended period of time.

This beer would be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys a lager, or something new.

And before you ask "why is a belgian beer being sold in the UK and not somewhere closer.. like France or Germany." Well, this is the #1 selling beer in the UK.

Finally, something out of Belgium that isn't evil, doesn't involve chocolate, and doesn't involve sprouts.

time for beer #3...

Moosehead in Canada.

It's disgusting. DIS-GUS-TING. Photodave and others will back me up. It did however, leave an apply aftertaste which I did enjoy.

It left me craving something though. A Guinness.

Expect a more detailed review in a few days when I can muster up the strength to deal with an entire bottle of it.

Lol, well, I think I'll need more than a day! But that'd be great. If your ever in England, will be more than happy to take you out for a Stella or Guinness or both!

Its quite funny what different things we take for granted!

eww well i'm sure its either a sponsor or its naturally easier to get ahold of. But if they want to represent a true Biergarten, Paulaner or the like would be required.

Kirin(lager or ichiban) is my fav Japanese beer, actually one of my fav overall, but i don't recall ever drinking in Japan to know whether or not its available.

Hopefully you get around to the rising sun in your reviews. :D

That's my brand!!!

I love Moosehead. It's basically all I drink. I think I know why you didn't like it too much. When I was there in July I was happy to see they served Moosehead and decided to pay the outrageous price that they charge for it. Even I had a hard time finishing it. I'm not sure why but it just didn't taste the same. Give it another try, this time a nice ice cold bottle and you might change your mind.

Moosehead is Canada's oldest independent brewery, been around since 1867. It seems to becoming more and more popular as well as I see more people drinking it. Still not the easiest thing to find at bars as most tend to stick with the generic Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue neither or which I care for. Moosehead is also considered a premium domestic so it's a little pricier.

I would also suggest trying Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale from Nova Scotia.
