MK Welcome show or 8:10 Be Our Guest Breakfast?

MK opens at 9am....should I do the welcome show (I would love to see it again) or should I keep my 8:10am reservations at Be Our Guest? The ONLY reason I would keep my reservations is if it would benefit us on rides/schedules. I have a small child, so we will not be riding Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc.

Its out of the heat of the day. You can get a lot done in fantasyland early. Like Peter Pan.

Is going to the Beast's castle a "must do" for the child?

We already have lunch plans at Be Our Guest the same day....but would cancel that if we did breakfast. It isn't a must. Strategically, I was not sure if it would be worth the early breakfast vs being at the entrance to MK around the same time.

On June 14 you will be there about the same time for both. I would go to breakfast, get done before 9AM, and see what you can do. Avoid 7DMT and Space Mtn, you can get a lot done. Peter Pan first and you can do a lot of the park before noon.

It's a lot of fun walking into an empty MK. Breakfast at BOG at 8:10 AM puts you in strategy position to get in a few attractions in Fantasyland before the heavy crowds arrive. Since you intend to do either breakfast or lunch at BOG, it seems money is not part of the equation.

Based on what you've told us so far, breakfast at BOG should offer you a new experience.

I LOVE the morning Welcome Show but I would keep the breakfast reservation. It is fun to walk down Main Street before the park opens, you would get a nice opportunity to take some castle pictures without a lot of people in the way and you will already be in Fantasyland when the park opens therefore beating a lot of the rush. Unless of course it is a EMH morning for resort guests then the park might open at 8.

Is it the only day you are going to be at the Magic Kingdom? Maybe you can watch the morning show another day. You can always watch the morning show on youtube, it isn't the same though.

If your child hasn't seen the welcome show then they'll have no idea what they're missing unless you've told them all about it. As others have mentioned, walking through a virtually deserted MK at 8am is a fantastic and unique experience in itself and something we love doing when we have the character breakfast at the Crystal Palace restaurant.

You would definitely be at an advantage since the crowds would be coming up Main Street USA at 9 while you would be walking over from the Beast's castle. There is so much for little ones in Fantasyland (new & old). We would probably keep the breakfast and try to do as much as we can back there before it gets too crowded.

Also - you can book your breakfast in advance - that will save you time when you get there.

I read a review that said the service was quick and the whole meal from ordering to finishing was about 30 minutes. The reviewer had a reservation time similar to yours and he said that it made a huge difference getting to mine train. Those coming from BoG were held just back from the ride and were allowed on as soon as the opening ceremony finished. When he exited there was a huge queue formed from all those who headed there from rope drop.

I think you have answered your own question. Why not enjoy the welcome show and go to BOG for lunch? HOWEVER, breakfast ADRs are coming up regularly. If you really want to do breakfast, try a later time before 10am.

I think walking into an empty park is a neat experience. I would keep the breakfast ADR and focus on getting NFL finished when you are done. The opening ceremony is neat, but I would rather youtube it than be stuck in a big crowd in the heat.

I'm a big fan of the welcome show, but I've never been into the Magic Kingdom early, and the thought of seeing it empty sounds appealing. If you have the chance, take that.

One thing to keep in mind, if you were planning on taking the Be Our Guest Option and maybe seeing the welcome show another day, is that the welcome show is not performed every day- some mornings they do just a reduced version or don't run it at all.

I also have an 8:10 ADR for BOG, and it sounds like a great idea. My question now is: How does one get from the Art of Animation Resort to BOG for an 8:10 reservation when the busses won't run until 8:15?

The bus will be running by 7 am. Maybe earlier than that. We have never had an issue getting to pre-park opening ADRs.

Be Our Guest is harder to get into than seeing the welcome show. That said, you have to prioritize based on personal preference.

My advice would be to not burn up the morning hours at MK on a long breakfast, unless eating there is a top priority. On an early morning, you can essentially see all of Fantasyland and catch a ride on Splash, Thunder, and Space before the crowds get too heavy.

I recommend a nice sit down lunch around 12:30 or so because the crowds build and it's a nice break for everyone.

The Welcome show is just a walk up, see what you see, listen to the music, and go on with the day. It's definitely not something I'd plan around.
