MK Trash

Did you know that MK has a great trash system? The system hides in the tunnels under the park and works like a vacume. There are different locations where a CM can dump the trash and it is sucked through to tubes and out to a huge compact machine. The machine is located just behind Splash Mountain, close to the parade storage, and it does not smell very good either. :hurl: PROTEIN SPILL!!!!!

The system is called AVAC, manufactured in Sweden or Switzerland. It also originally served the Contemporary Resort, I`m not sure if it still does?

If the winds are right, the trash can be smelled from the WDW Railroad as you approach the Frontierland Station.

if the winds are wrong, the smell will go nowhere, making backstage MK smell worse than it usually does :lol:

What actually impressed me more about the Trash System is the CM's that have to work in sanitation. Our tour guide told us they have to go through each thing of trash to make sure that the recyclables are sorted out. He also told us that the managers will sometimes put something in a soda bottle (or similar) for them to find to see if they are doing there job as well as they should be. He said that coupons for dinners and such will be hidden for them to find every now and then in those bottles.

that they do... I've had to be the one that stuffed the trashcans before. It's one of the things they'll have injured CM's do. My injury - nasty allergic reaction, so I was on "no shared clothing" (ie - no costumes) for a few weeks.
