MK Rope Drop - Strategy

I have not been since the opening show ended and it moved to a Castle show. We are rope drop people. Now that Main Street is open and everyone goes to the Hub. My questions are...

What is open on Main Street that you can do? Pin Trading, shop, etc.

How packed does the Hub get for the mad rush to the big rides? Do you want to be at the front of those packs and Stroller Brigades?

I went on a non-EMH Saturday at rope drop, the only "crowded" place was the group going to peter pan/mine train. We did Frontierland then Adventureland and had pretty much all walk ons for BTMRR, HM, POTC, JC, Aladdin's Carpets, and Splash. Hub wasn't like wall to wall people - it actually felt pretty evenly spread crowd wise.

Thank you. Our first time at MK we will watch the show since we have not seen it. That day we will probably do the Adventureland/Frontierland loop or the Tomorrowland/Toontown loop to start the day.

We just got back. The show ended as the lands opened. The lines were well formed at those areas.
Shops are open during this time. This was disney's way of giving people more time to shop and "leisurely" stroll Main Street before making a mad dash to the rides.
