MK rope drop and dining reservations

When we were there a few weeks ago, we had breakfast in the castle at 8:05. We then exited and were told by a CM that those waiting for Anna and Elsa would want to be right by the rope behind the castle/near the carousel. Those wishing to go to the 7DMT would want to go wait at the rope right by the meet and greet entrance for Merida. We were hitting up the mine train, so we headed over there and were on and off the mine train in 10 minutes.....when we exited from our ride, the standby wait time was over 60 minutes!!! The walk to the mine train got a little tense as all the people bottleneck into the queue, but I held tight to my kids and all worked out fine!

So when leaving Crystal Palace, do we head straight for the castle entrance for fantasyland rope drop? Geez, so if they're dropping the main entrance rope earlier than the advertised time, we'll have even less time to eat ?

well, i was just able to get FP's for the day we actually arrive-a day we weren't planning on going to the parks but if it means no stress of the morning stampede and knowing we can leisurely enjoy our Mickey waffles for a little longer, it was well worth the extra $44 for extra ticket day!!!

If the $$$ isn't an issue, then it may just be worth it for the sake of relaxation and overall enjoyment.
We were able to get FP's for both as well, so the stampede to the mine train was just a bonus ride for our girls. I was quite surprised, and borderline disappointed, that as we waited at the rope by the entrance to Merida I could see the 15 million people coming from Main St. right behind a group of CM's carrying their rope to keep the stampede under control.....needless to say, our CM's didn't start moving until we got jumbled in with the rest of the cattle! But, like I said, it all worked out......I did over hear one girl say to her father after we were in the queue for the mine train: "That was kinda scary! Did you hear those people cussing at each other when we first got let in?"

My family is going Sept 5th-12th and I'm hoping to use our 8 am BBB reservation to get a good spot in the A&E line when the MK opens at 9 am. We are staying off site so I don't expect to get a FP+ for them since we have to wait until the 30 day out point to make our picks.

I've seen lots of speculation about using ADR at CRT or CP to get a head start but noone has ever mentioned going to the BBB(I don't see why it wouldn't work the same way). It might even be better since we shouldn't have any issues being done well before 9. We didn't have this strategy in mind to begin with, we made the BBB reservation back when A&E were still at Epcot, my daughter just loved the idea of getting her makeover and then getting to enjoy it all day.
