MK Park Hours

I have to say I was disappointed to see that the week we're going in Sept. the park will close most nights at 8pm? Is this typical this time of the year? Is it even dark at that point for the Fireworks? I know AK and HS are kind of stingy with the park hours but geez, MK too?? Ugh.

The park hours often get updated around the middle of each month for the following month. So keep watching over the next week or so.

And party nights are now 4 times a week. I saw someone post just two days. Crowd levels are typically lower on party nights than non-party nights, so even with the early close it might make sense to make your MK day a party day. But of course you won’t be able to watch HEA.

It is another Iger move to save the planet. First eliminating the night parade, next the closing early, and soon the elimination of the fireworks. Just a matter of time.

Consider yourself lucky, I go to Disneyland Paris frequently in November where the parks don’t open until 10am, most rides aren’t even operating fully until 10:30/11ish and the parks close at 6 and 7pm :hilarious: Still love it though. Hugely different from Magic Kingdom’s 8am-10pm most of the year.

I too have seen them increase park hours in the few weeks leading up to a trip. We usually go in February and September and September especially I have seen last minute increases in park hours. Hopefully this is the case for your trip!
Fingers Crossed! Thank you:)

I checked Touring Plans today for our November trip and saw that, at least for the first few days of our vacation, the crowd level predictions had dipped down quite a bit. Part of me is hoping that turns out to be the case, but after reading this thread, I'm wondering if they'll end up shortening park hours if it turns out that the crowds are lower than originally anticipated. Do they ever do that or is it generally that they might extend park hours if it turns out to be more crowded than usual, but not shorten them?

Can't recall ever seeing them cut back park hours save for a special event.

They typically start at the low end and go up as fewer people complain if they thought the park closed at 8, but it stayed open until 10.

While it is indeed likely that they will extend, September is historically one of the quietest months of the year and routinely has early closing times.

Yes it is dark enough for fireworks at 8 pm by mid-September. Sunset by mid-month is at 7:30 pm.

In September 2017, most non-party nights had a 9 pm close.

Just noticed Disney extended park hours for the MK for the 1st 3 Saturdays in September. They close the MK at 11p now on the 8th and 22nd, at 10p on the 15th and to 12am on the 29th of Sep. Those were the only extensions I noticed though. Also just noticed the Studios got extended to 9p on Saturday the 29th as well.
