Hi! My family (my husband and I, a 14yr old son and 6 yr old daughter) will be visiting WDW for the FIRST time (we are really excited from 11/17-11/20. It's a surprise bday gift for my daughter's 7th bday (11/19). We only have 3 base tickets. My plan is spend 2 days in MK and 1 day in Epcot. We will arrive in the airport 11/17 @8:40am. We will be staying in Art of Animation so we will only rely with the magic express and the busses going to and from the resort to the park. Our sched is 11/17 MK, 11/19 MK w extra Magic hrs, 11/19 Epcot w extra magic hrs. Any suggestions if I should switch 11/17 and 11/19 sched? My daughters bday is on the 19th so I was thinking we should spend it in MK but MK is only open until 7pm bec of mickeys party. Will she enjoy her bday in Epcot? Thanks!

Even though MK is only open until 7, I would change her birthday park to MK. There's just not that much for a 7 year-old at Epcot, you would have just spent the day before at MK so leaving at 7 wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Definitely have her birthday spent at MK. When you get to the hotel or the park, make sure to get her a Birthday pin that she can wear. You, your husband and your son can also wear a "I'm celebrating" pin too. They are totally free and CMs will be saying "Happy Birthday" to your daughter all day; it really makes them feel special!! Plus, if you have any ADRs, make sure to tell them and they may do something special. Same with the hotel, if you tell them it's for a birthday, there just might be a little something special when you get to the room!

MK is actually a great place to be on a "party" day, even though you have to leave early. Because the day is shorter and the evening entertainment isn't offered to non-partygoers, crowds tend to be super light, because people don't want to "waste" a full-day ticket when they can't stay all day long. As a result, you'll get far more done before 7pm than you would on a non-party day if you stayed until the park closed, and everybody can still get to bed at a reasonable hour. :)

I don't really get going to WDW for three days going to one park twice. I know it's not what you're asking, but I'd do Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom in that order.

Thank you so much for all the replies. This made my planning easier. Now, I have to change our fast pass selection. I was lucky to get a reservation in Akershus on 11/17 at 1:50pm. Is it possible to have a lunch in Akershus at 1:50pm and make it to my fast pass in nemo and friends at 2:30-3:30pm. I know we have until 3:30 to make it to the fast pass? Thanks!

Yeah you shouldn't have a problem. It's a buffet...so you can eat as much or little as you want. If you're concerned, you can always ask the waiter/waitress for the bill when she first comes to your table. If you leave quickly...you may just miss one of the princesses that comes to your table.

Thanks for the reply. My original plan was
11.17 HS (we can get to the park maybe 10:30 or 11am since we will be arriving @8:40am in the airport)
11.18 MK
11.19 Epcot
but on 11.17 HS is open until 4pm and 11.18 in MK is the only option that we have to see the parades and fireworks. So I ended up choosing 2 parks, MK and Epcot.

You most likely won't need the Nemo FP anyway, I've personally never waited even a minute for that one, even during the new FP+ era. Don't sweat it if you don't make it, enjoy your meal.
