what if you start at mk, go back and swim in the afternoon and then want to go back to the mk at night, will they let you back in?

If the park is closed due to capacity then you would not be back allowed inside the park. But if you do have a park hopper pass then you can go to any other park.

If a park is closed, it's CLOSED.

If you are on the outside of the turnstile at all, and it's closed, you will not be allowed to go inside the turnstiles.

I've never been there when it was THAT crowded, and you'd have to PAY me to go then, haha!

unless you are a Resort guest. Disney has a graduated closing system, so they will close the gates to non-resort guests first, while still allowing those guests arriving by bus or monorail in. They just filter people at the TTC--anyone coming in by a means other than the TTC is a resort guest.

That's true....MK has different phases.....today we went to phase 2, which means that the parking lot was closed but monorails and resort buses were still operating.

Resort guests AND Annual Passholders have those privledges of their graduated closing system. Everybody else is subject to being shut out if MK is at capacity.

AP holders are only allowed in up to Phase 2. At Phase 3, only resort guests are allowed in and at Phase 4, no one is let in.

Here's a more detailed description:

Phase 1 is normal (Like everyday)
2 is only guests holding multi day tickets or resort guests. No tickets are sold at the gate... well, if someone has a muti day ticket in your party, you can park at the park, and then buy tickets at the gate for the rest of your group... well, usually you can.
3 is Resort Guests with multi day tickets only... well, not quite. Phase 3 was created because of parking lot compacity. So, if you have an annual pass, and you want to go to Magic Kingdom, but the park is at level 3, you could go over to Epcot and park, then take the monorail over to the MK and you could easilly get in.
And Phase 4 is only Company Execs. Rarely will it stay at Phase 4 for a long period of time, as guests are always leaving the park as well.

And finally, the "Full" signs on the WDW Resort Parks Signs refer to parking compacity. Not park compacity.

OK...I need help with a specific question...this is a job for a CM!!!

I'll be on a trip with my wife's HS choir trip next week.

We're tentatively scheduled to spend the morning of Friday April 16th at the AK then bus over to the MK via Disney Tranportation. We have (I think) 3 groups performing in the MK that afternoon and evening. There are about 160 students plus teachers & chaperones.

Here's the question, can we get shut out of the park in any way?

We are not staying on property, so I understand that one of the first things is to limit non-resort guests, but since we are performing, will we still be let in? Will we be allowed to perform then asked to leave? How should we go about this? Should we look into skipping the AK in the morning and heading straight to the MK?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!!!!

Bill, Im not going to cut and paste it. Leave the explanation to the people who have access to the actuall Policy. You're not totally correct on all of this and youre misleading people. So stop.

Jill's explanation is right on the money.

THE CORRECT AND OFFICIAL PHASES

Phases For Park Closing

What is it: At certain busy times of the year the parks experience great numbers of visitors. These fall mostly on the holidays but can happen any day of the year. In order to ensure safety and a magical time for all once a certain number of guests have entered the park, certain attendance measures go into effect. They are as follows:
Phase One:
Day Guests who have not already purchased tickets and Cast Members using their Maingate & Silver Passes will be turned around at the Auto Plaza. Guests meeting this criteria are told the Park has reached capacity.
Phase Two:
Currently, admission is limited to Resort Guests, Premium and Annual Passholders, crossovers and other Guests re-entering one of our Parks today. Guests using WDW Resort Transportation and Guests in taxis, will be admitted. Guests not meeting the above criteria are told the Park has reached capacity.
Phase Three:
The theme park is only open to Resort Guests using Disney transportation from their Resort or other theme parks or Annual and Premium Passholders. Shades of Green and Downtown Disney Resort Area Guests using their respective transportation will also be admitted. Guests not meeting the above criteria are told the Park has reached capacity.
Phase Four:
Closed to all Guests and Guests are told the Park has reached capacity.

What parking lot? The ticket center also lets you go to epcot, doesnt it, so they wouldn't close that, I assume.

What my fellow UCF CM was saying was at the MK parking gate there was a sign that flashed "Magic Kingdom FULL, Epcot open, Animal Kingdom Open, MGM open". If guests did not meet the criteria that I posted above they were told to park and hop a bus to another park or to turn around and drive over themselves (in a nicer way of course).

But what if you had one foot through the turnstile and one still outside when they made the decision to close the park???
Would you be able to go to half of the park???

Or....what if you are really really small and not likely to take up much space once inside the park??? Would you still be allowed on "It's a Small World???"

Or.... what if your sister was one spot ahead of you in line to get in and had your backpack, and she was already inside the park when they closed the gates on you??? Would she turn your backpack in to Lost and Found???? Would she buy a turkey leg??? Would she eat all your snacks and drink all your water???

What if you could be airlifted from attraction to attraction so you did not take up any space in line or have to mingle with the other guests? Would that increase ride capacity????

What if Minnie waved to you from the train station in that "Come up and see me sometime" way???? Would they let you in to meet her???

SO many questions........

(Disregard this as being the result of a boring conference call I am stuck on.....)

Anybody have any wait times for the more popular rides at MK? It should be interesting to see the times. I have a friend, who is visiting WDW this week for the first time with his 4 year old daughter. I tried warning him about the crowds but it's the only time his wife could get off from work.

I can't wait to hear his stories when he returns :D
