MK closing at 4:30pm on 11/5 - why

A few years ago in November we were at the Magic Kingdom and it closed early, around 5pm, because the band One Direction had rented out the park for an event for their fans. The early closing time was posted on Disney's park website months in advance, but after we had already booked a lunch at Cinderella's Castle. There was a torrential rain storm and a record low temp for Florida that night, so I felt like One Direction and their fans got what they deserved... :devilish: muhahaha!

Well, rightfully so. At bare minimum, Disney needs to make sure everyone entering that day is advised that it'll be a short day. I remember once we were at WDW and the park was closing around the time mentioned by the OP; it was our last day, and we were already headed out of the park as we had to catch a plane back across the country, but if we hadn't been, we would have been upset. For a park that demands so much advance planning, not making sure guests know they're about to get less park for their ticket seems unfair.

Signs are always posted at the front stating the park will be closing early. And on every ticket sold it does state in the confirmation that operating hours are subject to change without notice.
