Count me in with the cat people too! Thelma and Louise can be a handful, but they're so lovable.
I must say that I love my Golden retriever too or she'll nag me all day - but I really do love her! :animwink:

Good morning Betty!
Only cat people understand that cats can be a handful and lovable at the same time.
And Goldens are amazing!

You're right about Goldens! Kody just hasn't quite figured out that she's a dog yet though.

My nephew's family has a Golden puppy named Brody.
He's a cutie.
Their previous Golden, Boomer, was an absolute angel.
We all miss him. He lived through 2 babies coming into the house and was so good with them. So gentle.

That's Kody exactly - she's so gentle and so tolerant of the cats and kids who frequent this house. She just lives to please people.

Bunny, honey. . .
You misunderstood.
I am definitely a cat person.
I just said that my cat, Joey, is sometimes horrible.
She is.
But I do love her anyway.

Are those your cats in the picture?

I love all animals, and will probably get a dog when we move to our farm. Right now we don't live in the kind of area for a dog to be safe and happy in.

I'm kinda touchy about cats. Mine were rescues... literally. Some unkind person threw them out of a moving mini-van on the on-ramp to the interstate. Luckily Marc saw it happen, and stopped to pick them up, or they would have surely been roadkill. Thoughtless people like that make me so mad.
:fork:

But they have been a challange too. When James got sick, it was horrible, and I had to put up with a lot, especially when they said I should put him down. Now he's a happy, super-affectionate teddy bear.

I remember Boomer visiting our house as a puppy when our first cat, Mikey, was a kitten. He was so determined to play, and Mikey wanted no parts of him whatsoever. Boomer certainly tried to win him over, but no dice!

Poor babies!
How can people be so cruel?!

DD had a kitten named Snowbelly, and Kody used to literally carry her around the house just like a mother cat would do. She just adored that kitten.
She was the same way with Louise, but she's never cared as much for Thelma, although she does tolerate the frequent taill attacks she gets from her.

I get so mad when I think about what would have happened if Marc hadn't been there when he was. So, the "mama-bear" instinct is raised every time I hear someone putting cats down. I know I shouldn't take it too personally, but it's hard sometimes. They're my children!

That's okay.
A lot of us take things personally around here.
(Who me?) :lookaroun
It just means we're comfortable enough to be honest with each other.
You love your cats!
Nothing wrong with that! :)

We got Snowbelly because someone had left her in a car all day in the middle of July. Fortunately, she had been turned over to our vet, and she was able to save her. She had brain damage, but she was still a great cat.

I don't know what it's going to be like when we have kids. I'm going to be right there in the sand box if someone does one thing to my babies! It's that mothering instinct, I guess. :lookaroun

The mothering instinct can be tough to live with.
Some of us just have to mother everybody and everything.
