Btw- morning Dot

He and Dave would make a great pair....
In the "for what it's worth" department, I've never had a need for the on-the-door dispenser things either, and my impression of them is that they just eventually make a big mess of the floor around them. I have my Brita picture in the fridge and an ice-cube tray in the freezer, and I'm good with that!Thanks... lots of you guys have pics of your kids (or kids you know) in your avatar, so I figured, why not?
See the thing is, I'm the practical one, and he's the splurger. I could do without an ice/water dispenser on the door, but he NEEDS that, or so he says. Neither of us use the ice despenser at all... he just likes the convenience of the water on the door. We've got it narrowed down to a freezer on the bottom, french door style, but other than that we have 3 or 4 we're still stuck on.
I don't know, but they'd save a lot of $$$!Maybe it's best we keep them separated.
Who knows what could happen if those two minds got together. . .

I agree with you there - Brita pitcher - $20, ice cube trays - $2.99....I lived without them my whole life until we bought this house... And I will admit, the nice cool filtered water on the door is convenient... but I'm not sure whether it's $500 more convenient...

I'm not a fan of side-by-side either - seems a lot less roomy to me.I agree, although we do have an ice maker that a friend installed in return for a favor. We only use it in the summer.
I personally love the idea of the freezer on the bottom. Makes sense to cut down on the bending, since you open the freezer far less than the fridge. I've had a side-by-side but wouldn't get one again. The shelves can be a bit too narrow for some things.
Just my 2 cents!
YES!! It's a pretty entertaining dance too. Just checked in for my flight online...glad I did it early, they had me sitting in row 13!Steph. . .
Are you doing the "I'm going to Chicago" happy dance?

We do that already!:ROFLOL:Indeed.
Between the two of them we'd be living like paupers!

I guess it might depend on how long you plan to stay there then...., but I'd still not get it.I know.. but Marc sees resale value. It "looks" more impressive to have one on the door...
Maybe that'll distract them from my hideous 20 year old top and bottom range... :lookaroun
My niece just had a house built with all stainless appliances. She found out the hard way how much upkeep there is on them to keep them looking good.My mom has the freezer-on-top version, and that used to suit me just fine. But I really like the bottom freezer variety -it's easier to use, no bending down -everything's at eye level, and they're more energy efficient too. That's why we really like the French Door Style. This is the one Marc likes... But at least we both agree on white - no stainless for us. Not with a little one on the way. I just don't have enough time in my day to be cleaning all those fingerprints!
