We knew with both, but didn't tell anyone til they were born.

That's sounding a bit more reasonable... plus I get more control over the names that way...! :drevil:

 Don't be surpised if the whole "waiting to tell everyone" thing doesn't work. When you find out the gender - suddenly the baby takes on a life of its own and is no longer "the baby" But... she/he his/hers... you'll never make it calling the baby "it" just so family won't know.

But.. you know what? I had so much fun after we found out, telling everyone, I was really glad.. it was like getting two of those moments. The first when you find out and get to share with everyone - and the second when they arrive and everyone get's to put a face with a name. :)

That is so like a man. I love it.

Actually I think I'd be okay without telling people. Marc's the one who'd have the problem. I'm just calling it Sprout these days, and likely that'll stick.

Jennnnn-nnnnny!

You're not seriously mad at us, are you?

:o :o :o I hope not. We love you Jenny!

For me, I've actually trained myself to enjoy the wait almost more than the payoff... I'm the kind who's disappointed that Christmas is over because I have nothing to look forward to anymore...

Marc was paranoid that they'd be able to tell on our first ultrasound - I had to break it to him that Sprout is only the size of a cherry right now - you're lucky if you can tell if it has arms at this point!

 That's so cute! LOL

Sounds good to me!

With all the ultrasounds we had with DD, it was just amazing to see the growth progress.

Yes... be sure NOT to tell your inlaws the name you pick out... Once "sprout" arrives and he has an official name, you're much less likely to get people saying "no no no that's an awful name!" Unless you choose ceasar. :lookaroun then people will probably still say something. :lookaroun :D

I love it. Sprout. That's cute. My girlfriend (who didn't find out) called her son "peanut". and it stuck... Philip is usually still Peanut to his mommy. LOL

I was amazed in how much happened in the week between ultrasounds! All of a sudden it went from a speck to something the size of a marble - in just a week!
After the second trimester, it actually becomes more difficult to see as they grow though, sincer they take up so much more room.

You'll laugh when your weight gain suddenly starts multiplying much faster than that little person... "He only weighs about 5 ounces?! How in the world have I gained 15 lbs already then?!"

If you're not careful, I may not even tell you people the name! Mwuhahahah!

:drevil:

I saw what happened the other day - I'm not naming my kid Beetleguise!

I've heard of people calling it "bean" and " the little ailien" but neither of those worked for me... Then I remembered that Sprout's what my mom and dad called me before I was born... I thought it was cute!

Cool, isn't it? Abby's first ultrasound was at 5 weeks when we saw the heartbeat, doctor was so excited he was practically jumping up and down, because of our previous miscarriage. That made us feel soooooo good!
Joel didn't want to cooperate, kept pushing his head against the bar they move over your tummy, and with that full bladder....:hammer: Eventually he moved enough we were able to see obvious signs of the male gender :lookaroun , so that was cool. First (and probably only) grandson on his dad's side.

oooh that's the fun part. :) Second Trimester you have this great burst of energy, your body's adjusted to the hormones so you're no longer sick... and everything seems alive and wonderful...

In comes Third Trimester when you have a foot in your rib cage... and an elbow on your bladder. And you walk like a duck... and you're tired ALL the time. The last 3 months feel twice as long as the first 6.

But then you get to see things like feet!

Seriously, what's up with that??? I tried on ALL my pairs of jeans this morning for casual Friday... NONE fit.

DS is the only grandson on DH's side of the family (my side has 15 grandsons and 5 granddaughters)
