MJ Birthday Blessings II

Just wondering...

now I'm driving myself crazy with anxiety and thinking maybe I *might* want to know what the gender is before hand...

My SIL was ALWAYS hungry with my nephew, and this time she's not... so that and other context clues lead me to think it's a girl for her this time..

I'd love to have one that matches her kiddo, so they could be cousins together.

I wanted to wait so bad to find out what Lizzy was... but Jay couldn't stand the wait... his logic: "Don't you want to be the one who calls everyone? If you're stuck in the hospital bed it'll be me calling everone! I wouldn't want to take that from you... calling all your friends and family! Your grandma would kill me if I was the one to call her with the news!"

I laughed for about an hour at that... (he also admitted that he's not nearly patient enough to wait 9 months for such a monumental suprise) That's what finally won me over.

I think for #2 (IF AND WHEN ;)) I'd like to wait.... but I'm glad we found out ahead of time and were able to get the nursery ready and buy clothes and blankets and such. You don't want to dress your little girl in all yellow and green... and likewise I'm sure for a little boy. ;)

I swear by Jamba Juice's Cold Buster. It's chock full of Vitamin C. Anytime I feel a cold coming on I'll have one and I swear it keeps it away. I sound like a commercial. :lookaroun

I just looked that up.
It's one of those smoothies with the boosters, right?
It has a Vitamin C and an Immunity booster.
I'd love one right now!

I don't think I'll be able to stand to wait, whenever I have kids. I'm the girl who reads the last page of a book first so I think I would have to know

DD has a girl cousin 5 months younger than her and a boy cousin 2 weeks younger. She and the girl get along quite well - the boy is another story!

I guess they'll get along okay no matter what, but it would be neat to be the same gender and be so close in age...

I'd loooove to wait. I really want that "It's a ___" moment, but my resolve is weakening a tiny bit. Even IF we found out ahead of time, we wouldn't tell anybody until Sprout's birthday anyways. Marc, on the other hand, wants to know NOW, because he wants to be better prepared with stuff for the nursery and just getting mentally prepared for one or the other.

I really like yellow anyways... :lookaroun

For us it was just the opposite. I really didn't want to know with #1, but I had to have ultrasounds every month, and at one of them, the technician didn't realize that we didn't know, and just accidentally mentioned things.
with DS though, I wanted to know so that I knew what baby clothes I could use from DD. Dave swore he didn't want to know, so he left the room while they told me. When he came back in, he took one look at me and said "It's a boy isn't it?" So much for not wanting to know...

I think it'll just about kill me to wait... But... it'll give me more chances to shop for boy things since I already have the girl stuff. That's good logic right? :lookaroun ;)

I have no idea. :lookaroun
(seems like we got a crazy one around here today)

We knew with both, but didn't tell anyone til they were born.

 Don't be surpised if the whole "waiting to tell everyone" thing doesn't work. When you find out the gender - suddenly the baby takes on a life of its own and is no longer "the baby" But... she/he his/hers... you'll never make it calling the baby "it" just so family won't know.

But.. you know what? I had so much fun after we found out, telling everyone, I was really glad.. it was like getting two of those moments. The first when you find out and get to share with everyone - and the second when they arrive and everyone get's to put a face with a name. :)

For us it was just the opposite. I really didn't want to know with #1, but I had to have ultrasounds every month, and at one of them, the technician didn't realize that we didn't know, and just accidentally mentioned things.

That is so like a man. I love it.

I think you should find out Bunny..that way if its a girl I can get all these clothes out of my house..:)

Sounds good to me!

For me, I've actually trained myself to enjoy the wait almost more than the payoff... I'm the kind who's disappointed that Christmas is over because I have nothing to look forward to anymore...

Marc was paranoid that they'd be able to tell on our first ultrasound - I had to break it to him that Sprout is only the size of a cherry right now - you're lucky if you can tell if it has arms at this point!
