Mixed Feelings...

So, I'm pretty sure that our 2013 June trip is off due to the extended family wanting to vacation together in Myrtle Beach next summer. This MB trip is something we have been trying to do for the past two summers now but something has always gotten in the way. I prefer Disney over MB, but in a way this is better too:

1) There is no way I'm getting kicked out of my 2014 birthday trip and my family knows that. With the money we'll save skipping Disney next summer we might be able to save more $$$ and stay at a Deluxe resort (GF, AKL, Poly, BC?)

2) We might be going to Orlando over Christmas this year. This past July I was able to convince my dad into the MK for a day which I'm hoping will be considered a Christmas present for this year (we have never seen the World during the holidays).

3) I was already kicked out of a short Labor day weekend business trip to Orlando because of airfare expenses. This doesn't bother me so much, but I do LOVE flying and Florida


So, what do you think? Should I keep pushing for a 2013 trip, or save money and stay somewhere I never dreamed possible within the next 10 years? Just needed to hear the WDW fanatics opinions

I wouldn't push. If it was meant to be, it would have happened. Better to do it up right on a trip with fewer obstacles.

I am also of the school of thought that Disney is better when you don't go too often.

That all depends. If staying at a deluxe resort is a dream, I would say, by all means, save up for 2014. Of course, the obvious option would be to keep an eye out for any future promotions, (free dining, room discount, etc) then maybe plan just a few days at Disney. Start now, watch airfares and see if its within your budget to do a quick get-a-way

I agree, save up and truly don't worry about a thing!! I know it will be hard but very worthwhile!
