Orange is more spinny and much better. They've toned it down a lot since it first came out, so if you talk to people who haven't been on it in years, take the "Ooh! It's so intense!" with a grain of salt.

I still recommend you try green first. We had to wait for them to clean the orange one in June because someone got sick on it. Green is now my craft of choice. Spinning, even if not as intense as it used to be, still gives me a headache. Just thought you should know in case that is a problem you have. Wouldn't want your day to be ruined because of a headache.

Ya have only been on this once the year after it debuted and let me just say tht drinking several margaritas and then going on the ride made me sick the rest of the day. Since it was new we didn't know that it was basically a spinning centrifuge the same as the astronauts use! Won't ever be going back on it since my tolerance for spinning rides over the years has gone to !

I'm 41 now. LOVE thrill rides.

I went on green 6 years ago. Fine.
I went on orange 2 years ago. Never again. Not enjoyable. Maybe my head can't take things as well with age? I don't know. Nobody in my party got sick, but nobody cared for it. If I never go on MS again, I wouldn't be upset.

The orange one is the Centrafuge! The green one tilts and rocks up and down!!! The orange one pulls 2.5g's on the x axis witch is much harder!!! Tot pulls g's on the y axis witch only makes ur tummy feel like its up in your throat! If u do go on orange make sure to keep ur eyes open even if u feel woozy and keep your head straight! If u don't know what a centrifuge is check it up on YouTube!!!

Even though the orange side is indeed spinning (some of the time) I have always felt that this description was a little misleading. It's misleading in the sense that one cannot actually feel and sense the spinning action, like a Dumbo or Tea Cup. What the spinning does is introduce G-forces on your body. That is the sensation that you feel. Like accelerating in a car (but stronger). You do not get a spinning sensation, just a g-force sensation. In order to feel like your spinning you need visual confirmation that this is what is happening. You don't have any outside reference points visible, so it just feels like pressure.

I have ridden both and I enjoy both. I don't get ill from riding the Orange side even though I am on medication for High Blood Pressure, I have no ill effects. However, since I am overweight the pressure of my body weight against my chest and diaphragm does cause me a little discomfort and trouble breathing properly. I always forget that when I ride it and when it starts up, I then remember to breath through my mouth and that takes care of it.

I really don't feel that the lack of spinning takes that much away from the experience in my opinion. I get the same "thrill" from the Green side as the Orange so I usually split it when I go. About 70% of the time I will ride the Green and the other 30% gets the Orange nod.o_O

Exactly....or we could have been shuttled to Olympus Mons for a dinner ressie :)

I remember the first time I rode MS it was getting later in the evening. After the ride I hurried across Future World trying to get to ride Imagination. Just as I walked up, the CM's closed and latched the doors. I told them it wasn't fair. I had just been stranded on Mars by Disney and had to walk all the way back. They should at least let me it. They were not impressed! I wonder why? :p:D

Mission space makes me want to die after I go on it...we did it three or four times over the past three or four trips and finally I said I'm don't with this ride the last trip. It just makes me want die after I get off it for the rest of the day

Right?? I got off it and sat down and drank some water because it seriously felt like the "spin was rooming". I ate a granola bar and felt better. My FIL took the rest of the day to recover.

Josh felt fine after Green but even he admitted he had a bit of a headache after Mission Space! LOL Maybe the combo of doing both got to him...LOL

A little advice to all... If u don't want blood rushing to your head cause that's what the ride does to make u woozie try taking small breaths inhaling only during the spins!!! Also tense up all ur muscles in your body. It will help. It's the same technic fighter pilots use to deal with the 7 plus g's their experiencing

Interesting info, thanks everyone.
Must Do's for our EPCOT day:
Test Track
Spaceship Earth
Soarin'
Mission Space
Maelstrom
And Coral Reef
Do everything. We all have opinions about what we like and don't. I always do it for myself, at least one time, except for rides that I can't do because of a bad back. I have my daughter ride first and then tell me if I'll be okay riding it. I love lots of the little things others hate like Journey into Imagination and Captain EO, though I hate the preshow film. One time is enough for that thing. I also like Ellen's Universe of Energy. It's also a great cool or warm, depending on the season, place to get off my feet for a while. We could ride The Land over and over.
And even with the bad shape the film has gotten into in Soarin, that is the one we always do first and try to do several times while there. It just never gets old.
