I found this picture back in the archives.

It looks pretty consistent with the overhead shot in question. The framing of the building on the left is up, but you can clearly see what looks like 4 circular foundations behind it, two on the left and two on the right.

According to Birnbaum's 2003 guidebook, this is how Disney describes what Mission: SPACE will be:

"Think you've got 'the right stuff?' This is your chance to find out! A dramatic, new attraction is blasting its way into Future World. It's mission? To give you a chance to experience the intensity of space travel without actually leaving the planet.

"Set to open sometime in late 2003, Mission: SPACE aspires to provide a galaxy of thrills. It starts with a white-knuckle blast-off of a spacecraft (which has rather snug seating for four) on a secret mission. The sustained G-Force during the launch is intended to be most realistic. Once en route, expect to experience a strange sensation. It's not quite weightlessness, but according to astronauts who've felt the real thing, it's pretty darn close.

"Throughout the journey, you'll work with your crew members (assuring the roles of captain, engineer, navigator, and pilot) to accomplish your mission.

"In order to ride, you must be at least 44 inches tall and free of back and heart problems, motion sickness, and other physical limitations. Pregnant women should skip the trip, as should those with claustrophobia."

Hope this helps!
