Mission: Space tribute to Mission to Mars?

I'm sure many of you have seen that little tribute to Horizons in the Mission Space queue. But I just recently noticed what appears to be a tribute to the old Mission to Mars attraction that was in Tomorrowland also in the queue!

Now, I personally do not remember ever seeing this ride, it was before my time. But I was watching a video clip on the extinct attractions club web site from a DVD on Mission to Mars. If you watch the clip, they have some video from the original ride, showing a bird crash landing on the ground, "tripping the emergency system" and making the alarms go off. You can see this same video clip of the crash-landing bird on one of the control room monitors in the queue for Mission: Space.

I'll have to look for that! Not a lot of people remember Mission to Mars, but I'm sure if they are old enough and saw some clips of it, they might. I'll have to check that out, thank you!

I believe Mission to Mars inherited that clip from the original Flight to the Moon

Yep & yep... imagine if a December 1971 clip was still showing at Epcot.. after its original home is in its 6th incantation!
