I am curious as to how they will load passengers into each of the ride capsules? I would also like to eventually see how the centrifuge works!

Yea this is something I've wondered about too... do they load/unload all 10 pods at the same time or one by one, rotating each into a loading position like a ferris wheel.

One by one would take waaaay to long to load... Its gotta be queue lines like at star tours, except circular, surrounding the pod.

If you look at the video, you can clearly see that the "ready room" is set up with ten rows of four for the first preshow, that are then escorted to the second preshow, in front of the respective pods, with that preshow made for each group of four (in other words, four large preshow rooms lead to 40 smaller ones). This gives the Cast Members the 5-7 minute ride time to get guests into their smaller preshow room, so they can board the moment the pods are vacated by previous astronauts.

and that leaves the exiting guests about 5 minutes to vomit and the CMs to clean it. :hurl:

no...they don't get that. After their 5-7 minute ride, they are herded off very quickly to the bathrooms...so the next guests can get on. They will just have a buncha those car air fresheners in each shuttle so you can't smell the difference...it'll be a quick wipe and the next guests will be blasting-off!

  I doubt that this ride will cause people to vomit...remember this is a Disney ride, so I doubt that it will cuase people to lose their lunch. Ofcoarse some people may vomit (the real sensitive to motion types), and in that case they have time to clean. (But I haven't seen a ride at Disney that makes most people vomit, the closest one that I've seen where some people may get sick is ToT (they must get motion sickness...cause I don't see how you can get dizzy from falling and rising and falling again....lol). But hey M:S is a centrifuge, and well you never know people could get sick. By the looks of that video, people were not getting ready to vomit they were having FUN! Either way I'm getting on this thing and if people do hurl then I'll make sure to "watch my step" as I exit the vehicle. :hammer:

I remember a while back everyone, including me, was a little dissapointed with something Steve told us all. He said that we will see the centrifuge and the ride system before we board. Is this still true?? When I look at the video it certainly appears like the "ready rooms" lead to the capsule.

Unless they have electric walkways that can extend out to the entrances of the pods and then retract for the ride to start (which would be a tremendous cause for breakdowns--10 of those would have to be in perfect condition all the time for a single centrifuge to run), that is set up like a jetway at an airport (moveable walls and ceiling), it would be impossible to keep guests from seeing the gears and such in transit b/t the 2nd preshow and their respective X2 rockets. But, I suspect it will be very dark in there so you still won't see much--like Soarin' Over California, Star Tours, etc. Disney is usually good about that. I assume they will just have stationary stairs attached to each pod for guests to board--it's the most logical way to get guests on (and cheapest).

There will be some show lighting, that will distract you from seeing exactly what is going on. The centrifgue is also black, as is the room its in. It kinda reminds me of the Test Track interior (black walls, black ceiling etc) So its very possible that 99% of people may not know they are in a centrifuge. However, everyone here will of course know ;) and will be able to see whats going on.

That's what I was figuring, too--Disney is not purposely telling anyone how they are simulating the various G-Forces this ride generates, and since you won't be able to feel the spinning, most guests won't know what is going on--adding to the psychological aspect of the ride.

Its a drop-away floor to allow easy boarding :)

Hmmmm, never seen me ride the tea cups, have you?

i dont think this ride will give to much trouble to anyone. anybody that can take normal thrill rides im sure you can take this. Disney never really makes things that intense.

If you can handle Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Body Wars...you'll be fine. (I say Body Wars b/c that is slightly more intense than Star Tours...)
