I highly doubt thats accurate...

The Soft openeing would be around febuary....most likley...

They are not abuot to push up the opening date because they have been hyping it up, and people have been planning vacations around it....

...then again, he could be wrong...or right about it. I hear many rumors from ready by the end of this year to being delayed, so we may never truly know.

Eisner better be right on his opinion of the ride system, 'cause I need a reason to renew my AP this fall!

O trust me..it will be worth it...The ride system its using is something fantastic...and unlike any other I have ever heard of.

I doubt by late 2002...unless it was an advanced-cheap  ride system. No, I will have to wait to SEE Mission Space a good ride to actually believe it.

Maybe this will be EPCOT's first VERY Good Change in a few years...I doubt Imagination will. It will never meet my criteria until they do away with that Institute...

Let's just hope it's not this big pavillion worth 3 minutes....all that land...

I know the outside of the building and the surrounding area (trees, shrubery, concrete walkways, etc) are supposed to be ready to go, eliminating that big wall, while they finish the inside of the building...perhaps facts got a little mixed with rumor?

despite the fact that I'm not expecting too much from the latest JII renovation, you have to accept that they are planning on keeping the Imagination Institute permanently. They could do something good with it, but it would involve completely redoing the area....

It would involve that.

And when I get into office...it will! After all, "portable" EPCOT attractions are only allowed to stay open for about 10 years (except for JII and Horizons!) :D

Bye, bye, Test Track!

NowInc has turned against himself?

NowInc's "plan of pessimism" has turned against him. Now that he is OPTIMISTIC about Mission: Space, we're gonna have a bad ride!

if disney fired you and you wanted to get rid of Test Track...they would fire you on the spot. They are not about to get rid of it.

hahahahahaha. I will. We all know how much of a say Imagineers get. Example? Animal Kingdom. Imagineers hardly ever get what they want. If you want Test Track to close, you are out for the wrong job.

being Optimistic is against my usual ways...yes...but I have faith in this one....

And riiiiiight....You tell them at Imagineering that you want to remove TT...maybe if you are lucky they wont commit you.....We all know that removing the most popular attraction at EPCOT would be a smart buisness move....

(eyes grizzly) Are you talking about your big 'World of Motion' Project? As long as you PROMISE to bring back the symbols, and not tear down test track (happens to be one of my favorites..) I'll stand behind you...

hope Grizzly has the money for this big project, because disney is not going to pay for any changes on an EXTREMELY popular attraction. It would be like putting a merry-go-round in the basement of the Tower of Terror. Against the purpose of the ride and useless to boot. This ride can't get any more popular, and if you have not noticed, every attraction disney has built of late has been extremely popular. I'm guessing DinoRama will have long lines...until BK opens, that is...

All I am saying is this...Test Track always has mechanical failure, and I can guarantee in at LEAST 10-15 years the attraction may get into serious problems...heck, they even had a car get of track...but that was back in testing...

I would never take it away. Because it is well-cherished by many. And I like seeing happy faces at Disney. But many others are sad. So what my plans are are listed in the Imagineering section...keep Test Track, and add a hint of World of Motion in a hub...and MAYBE if they can expand it, put in a very hyped-up Dreamflight ride where you choose your own ending or something...
