mission space question

It may spin from a technical standpoint, but you don't feel like you're rotating.
But you do feel g forces, and perhaps the roughest part for me - weightlessness.
I've only done the orange side.
Describe it?
You're going to feel like you are launching off in the Space Shuttle, but instead of orbiting Earth - you are going to slingshot your way to Mars, crash land on its surface and teeter over a cliff.
It's an intense and amazing ride.

If you're at all claustrophobic, DON'T go on this ride! I did it once. the spinning didn't affect me even a little, but that tiny cabin really freaked me out!
Same with my wife.
She's far more immune to motion induced queeziness than I am.
I could never on the Tea Cups for example.
But, on Mission Mars - once the screen moved inches from her face, she was ready to bail and never rode it again.

Yes
Just imagine a weight pushing down on your whole body, mostly focused on your chest. That's what the G-force feels like. While the force is active, it'll be a little bit difficult to lift your arms and marginally more difficult to breath.

The G-force happens three or four times during the ride and each lasts for no more than twenty seconds, otherwise the only things you'll feel are slight motion and air blowing in your face.

I don't like intense rides at all. I went on Mission Space Green, and it was good, I enjoyed it. I am claustrophobic, but I was fine on the ride.

My husband loves very fast rides, and will try anything. He's been on all the coasters in WDW, Universal and Seaworld and enjoyed them all. He went on Mission Space Orange and hated it. He wouldn't go on again.

I went on it for the first time last November and loved it as it was unlike anything I've ever been on before. We skipped green and went straight for the orange side. A few people have mentioned about closing eyes, but I'm pretty certain that they warn you not to look away from the screen in front of you because it may cause you to feel nauseous etc.

It's intense and the G-Force effect feels pretty bizarre at first, but I'm a fan.

We love it. We started with green because the kids were little. We left it up to them to tell us when we could switch to orange. It's a must-do for us. It's fun. It's different. It's Disney.

We've ridden green many times (with no problems) and on our last trip did orange... never again. We all felt dizzy and nauseous. And like another poster said, closing your eyes doesn't do any good. I'm not claustrophobic and love coasters, so I was surprised it had that affect on me. Simpsons at Universal also made me a little dizzy but not quite as bad.

Closing your eyes on this type of ride makes it worse. That's when you'd notice you're spinning. You want to stare straight ahead at the screen.

I agree with the Teacups comparison. If that type of ride makes you queasy, Mission Space may have the same effect.

Kennedy Space Center used to have a smaller attraction of this type. Don't know if it's still there but it was way more intense than Mission Space.

Neither I nor my daughter have had any issues with orange , ever, we break all the rules, look away ect and we are 100 percent fine, then you take my brother in law the thrill ride Junkie he rode one time and came out green looking for a trash can, so it is totally an individual thing how you react, basically you won't know until you try.

I haven't done orange in a while but for people who have done both recently what do you think the difference between the gs on orangeMS and Everest?

Good question, although Everest has you whipping backwards so maybe more people can handle it? It does have one moment that gets you and you feel as if you are going upside down, but then it calms down before it whips you a little more. Orange doesn't give you a break. Maybe it's more like an extended launch of RocknRoller coaster?

I was really concerned about how intense it would be, but I didn't think it was so bad. We walked off saying "that wasn't bad at all". The initial take off lasts maybe 30 seconds I would guess and that is the most intense part. You still get the same experience on the green side without any of the added g force, so as most people suggested, I would start there. I should also say that I don't like really intense roller coasters (I refuse to ride the Hulk again) and I had fun on Mission Space Orange, although I rode the green side a few times before I worked up the courage.

Hulk is getting a completely new track, that is if the roughness was too much for you. It should be smooth soon!

I would suggest, like others, to try out green first. Also, if you venture to orange, try to not eat right before you ride. With that in mind, I still strongly suggest to try out orange at least once. It IS fun!

Side note on this topic: I'm very impressed with the ride and the well drawn out theme but I secretly hope Disney is able to in the future include a sequence like Star Tours with including a new ride sequence (maybe to new planets in the solar system) every time you ride. Either way, I'll continue to enjoy what we currently have! :)

Have you ever been on the carnival ride that spins you real fast and you get sucked to the wall?

Mission Space is not as intense. I was actually surprised how low the force was.

The g force itself is not the issue with me, it's so cool on lift off.
That moment of weightlessness is rough though. (Also really cool too though.)
The teetering on the cliff gets me woozy.
