Mission Space Question?

From ehat I hear is that it will simulate ZERO gravity. not sure exactly how they would do that and have a high capacity ride, but if they do it sounds amazing :)

I think it works like this...

If you spin aroudn fast enough while spinning around fast enough, centrifical force will pull at you equally from all directions counter acting gravity and thuss creating a sense of weightlessness. If you just spin aroudn fast enough, you create high gravity, or "high G-force" to simulate acceleration and speed.

So, in short, lots of spinning. The ride system is a centerfuge of some manner. Or so I've been told.

Other random things I know: One wall is purple. The postsshow has a game I get to play this Friday. (I got confirmed! Yay!)

Oh my god...

The rumors where true?
The purple wall DOES exist! I can rest easy :)

No really, in all seriousness, Be sure to tell us what the game's like! I read about it, and it sounds like LOTS of fun, it's a space race type thing, right?

I suppose we all can assume that the technology present in the ride system is being tested and re-tested and re-tested to make sure that no matter what happens to the drive system the passengers remain safe. Presumeably, if something goes wrong, the centerfuge should simply "spin out" and eventually halt.

What I'm wondering is, what will an emergency stop, or power failure feel like? Will it simply be a gradual return of "outward" gravity as the vertical axis slows or will it be a disorienting combination of directional forces?

Either way, sounds fun. :hurl:

An E-stop on all attractions is a full motion stop. So, it might be as pleasent as the hitting the brakes on the speed test as Test Track.

There could be a different type of stop though. In Body Wars, there is a Mission Stop and then an E-stop. Mission Stop ends the ride and resets the vehicle in the "Home" position so load/unload can occur. An E-stop haults all vehicle movement and freeze everything in place. For fires and sick guests, you use a Mission Stop, for severe emergencies, you E-stop.

Thinking more about it, I think that will be the case. Roller coasters can either just "catch" you at the next break station, or they can slam on the breaks mid-ride. At Test Track, they can either E-stop the whole attraction, or do a Station Stop which haults a single vehicle.

Mission Space isn't even in the same galixy as Mission to Mars.

Well, let’s see: From what I understand, they both are about space and they both have seats and both have some sort of screen you look at and you will move in your seat in Mission Space and you *sort of* moved in your seat in Mission to Mars… All they need to do is add Tom Morrow to Mission Space and it sounds to me like you’ll have almost the exact same attraction! :D

Two things

First: there two totaly diffrent concepts of space

Second :MtMs is a thrater and is stationary, M:S has indivudual ride vehicles and is based on a centerfuge design.

Why don't they put sick bags on the simulators?

If you went to MGM Studios over the last few days you would have seen all the backgrounds for Mission: SPACE being painted. They were really cool, all in neon colours, she was painting them using UV lighting, is was the inside of a cave apparently for the end of the ride. Also there were the NEW backgrounds for Maelstrom.

That would imply simulators make people sick. Not something to make the lawyer folk happy... So, instead, we have the concern/procedures for the soon to be sick people who happen to get on a simulator.

So, what happens when someone does get sick?? Do they just stop the ride and clean it up? Eewwwwww... :hurl:
