Mission Space Orange question

Intense all the way for us. I have never had issues with the G-force, neither has my DS. We ride it several times in a day and have never had the nauseous sensations others talk about. They do tell you not to lean forward during the ride and we havent. I think the most pressure I've felt comes at lift off, but its nothing thats ever affected me negatively. Reaching out to hit your button at the appropriate times, you can feel slight pressure pulling your arm back. If youre ok with the spinning silo ride you should be able to handle intense MS. In the silo ride you are more conscious of the spinning inside the drum whereas the MS capsule you are watching the monitor screen in front of you which helps keep you occupied throughout the ride cycle. Hope you brave it out and try it.
I have never been on M:S, so what happens if you don't press the button?
Thanks in advance.

My question is how hard are the G-forces and how long do they last (and at what points do they occur) on the Orange side?

I've got no problem with the extreme rollercoasters or spinning rides (like teacups), but one time I got in the Silly Silo (or Rotor) ride at our local amusement park and the pressure in my chest made it felt like I couldn't breathe or catch my breath and I panicked a bit and asked them to stop the ride. (The silo ride is where you stand and the room spins, the floor slowly drops but the centrifugal force keeps you attached to the wall).

All the posts I've read about MS are about the spinning affects, but very few gforce affects.

So do you think that if I can't handle the spinning silo rides would Orange be too much for me, or does the g-force affect last briefly and return to normal?

Thanks!

I can't handle the teacups at all but had no issues with MS orange after a navy pilot buddy told me to go on the ride first thing in the morning and to eat a banana and get some caffeine in my system about 30-45 minutes before the ride. Apparently the potassium and speeding up your heart minimizes the nausea. Did that and had no problems but still haven't tried it on the tea-cups yet.

I will tell you this, after doing the green and the orange the green really isn't worth it unless you like pushing buttons and watching Lt. Dan.

Thanks for all the replies. Like I said, the spinning won't get me queasy, it's the pressure I felt on my chest and experience of trying to catch my breath and wondering how long it will last that I got freaked out on. It's good to know that there are only three segments of that pressure. Do you know how long it lasts for each segment? I figure if it's 15-20 seconds each, I can deal with it knowing it will calm down to regain my breath.
The G-force pressure only happens twice. Once at takeoff and once when leaving the moons gravity. I had trouble with breathing on both because of the pressure on my chest. All of a sudden it occurred to me to breath through my mouth during those times and that solved the problem for me. Never had a nausea problem with or without turning my head, but, I would suggest following the directions and look straight ahead.

You are assigned/riding as Navigator,Pilot,Commander, or Engineer. Each seat has their button to push twice at specific times during the flight. You are told when to activate your button in your role. If you do not do it, or are too late to activate it when told, the capsule auto pilot does it itself. Sometimes there are not enough people loaded onto all the seats so a seat is empty with no one to punch the corresponding buttons. The ride continues as if everything is done on time. My DS and I have ridden each seat and position.

Same here with me I am like pressing buttons and looking around the while time and I always feel fine
I drive my DS crazy by pushing all the buttons & flipping all the switches... beep beep beep...until the ride starts. He says stop it but I like annoying him.:joyfull: Probably annoying the other 2 riders too... but I'm having fun.:p

Do you guys think that motion sickness pills like Dramamine would help before going on the ride? I have never taken them and have the urge to MAYBE try the orange version.

Possibly.
I've only ever gotten sick on Orange by intentionally ignoring the safety instructions and turning my head to the right. You know... for science.

Everyone's reaction to that ride is different. I took Dramamine for it once and another occasion without. I was fine both times. Just make sure you get the non-drowsy formula or you may be tired for the rest of the day.
