Mission Space needs more

Remember 10 years ago when it opened and the message board world was telling us it was Disney's first "F-Ticket" ride??! How incredible the pre show was??! Then the ride itself being amazing??!

And there were a slew of new usernames "ISTC.... MS.... "

What a fad M:S was when it first opened....seems to have seriously cooled off over a decade. Whereas Tower, Splash, Space, Everest, Pirates, and Mansion are all going strong with positivity and loads of fans who ride several times each trip.

Yeah, MS has lots of fans, but it isn't quite what everyone originally thought ten years ago when it opened. Just based on the above posts talking about changing the concept up, and making it more "to date."

I was one of those people, clearly! The thing was--when it opened, it was the first real blockbuster in a long time at WDW and was so different from anything else. Unfortunately, since it is a very expensive video game, it has not aged gracefully and seems pretty lame in 2012. I rode it 57 times the first summer it opened (thus my name). That was a 5-day trip. Last month, the wife and I went to WDW for 10 days and rode it once (which was enough).

It needs much better visuals. I think of it this way--in the mid-90s, I thought my PlayStation had fantastic graphics. Now, if I bring out the old PlayStation, the graphics are horrible. Video games need to be updated.

Clearly, many people feel the same way. Mission: Space's wait times of late have been very low.

All of the timeless attractions that you listed are "real"--i.e. not expensive video games. That's what makes them timeless. The ghosts on the Tower of Terror will always be spooky because they look real. We love Br'er Rabbit because he's real (when he's working). Something like Star Tours, on the other hand, will need an update in 10 years (and probably go 20 years before it gets the update).

Well there's no "game" involved, although the graphics look like a video game...all of the commands during the mission get done anyway.
