Not even that. There's no way to monitor the guests on the ride. The only way a CM will come to check on you is if they hear you screaming or pounding on the capsule doors prior to starting the ride.
If the ride has already been activated, not necessarily started, the CM can not do anything to stop the ride. Mt husband is afraid of enclosed spaces. He does like to joke around, but he really was afraid when the console came closer to you, and you are tight in there. My husband screamed and banged, but no CM came. So... no there are no heart monitors on that ride!:rolleyes:

as Marni said, there are cameras on the actual bay, but no cameras or anything monitoring you inside the capsule. Once the ride has started, the CM's can't really even hear you, so if you want off, you better yell your head off before the ride starts. Of course, you should have made up your mind before that point.

A possible reason for this rumor is that, while you are waiting for the ride to start, the onboard audio says "Commander's heart rate is a little high." Maybe people hear this and assume that its real?

I didn't do that but thought about doing it. I don't like enclosed spaces dependent on other people letting you out. First time I rode it, the mission didn't start and there we sat. I did not like that one bit, I was in basically a steel coffin with some intern who will some time open the steel coffin when they feel like it..... probably won't ever go on that ride again and the spinning has nothing to do with why I don't like it.
The Green Side doesn't spin it that helps!

Perhaps this guy heard this and then the ride broke down and just assumed they were connected? I'm leaning towards he just made this up, but that could explain it.

Literally nothing can stop the ride? There must be an emergency stop, or something, just in case.
