Mission: Space and Everest

First of all:

Mission Space

-I thought that this ride was awsome.

Anyway, I was first in line on Mission: Space on June 26th and 27th.

(did anyone see Bill Nye on the 27th? He was getting a tour of the ride and then went to Ellen's Energy Adventure)

I really enjoyed the launch and the Computer Graphics.

My favorite part though is entering Mars' atmosphere. That was really fun.

There was one problem though. The objectives and controlling the joy stick don't do anything. One time, everyone in the pod was pointing the joystick in the opposite direction of what we were supposed to do. However, the ride did not change at all from that.

I still loved the ride.

My brothers hated the ride though. They thought the ride was very tame. (the G-forces seemed weak that time)

Now Everest.

What i saw of the ride is really no different to the pictures on the site. The construction site is quite small though. I guess it will realls be on 1 acre.

Moving the joysticks doesn't do anything...perhaps it will in August, but I don't know.

P.S. no weightlessness for me, either. We'll see how it is in August when it opens.

It says on Disneyworld.com that it determines the outcome...but we'll see...

Oh. I do have a question that I hope someone could answer.

When in line for Mission: Space, in the courtyard behind the right wall, there is a pair of clear glass doors. You can easily see behind it and behind it appears to be a large unfinished room with a pair of stairs.

Now it this room for? It does not look like it could be for the line. But, I do find it strange for this.

Oh. I spotted a ladder by the Universe of Energy.

As of now, there is only one outcome on Mission: SPACE, which is how it will remain for a while, anyway. As you all know, like the Tower of Terror, they can modify this ride every few years, so maybe in the the future, it will become more random like the Tower has become, but at least for the next year, at least, this is the story you will be seeing. Furthermore, centrifuges cannot generate weightlessness--that is why you don't feel it on this ride. NASA uses centrifuges to generate the heavy G-forces of blast off, flying around the moon, etc--that is why those are the best parts of this ride. Zero-G testing at NASA either involves walking in water or taking a plane to 35,000 feet and doing a nose dive. There is simply no way to overcome gravity without changing elevation...none that I know of...ride the Tower of Terror if you want that:D

First of all, why was this topic moved?

This board is about new and upcoming rides.

Mission Space is new and not even officially open.

And Everest is coming.

Anyway, there are 2 parts that feel like weightlessness on the ride.

Right after launch and I forgot the other moment.

What happend to all the talk about mission space simulating weightlessness. It was explained on here several times by several people(the chair on a spinning stick deal about how ifu tilt it a certain way u will feel negative G's instead of positive G's, etc). I am very dissapointed that it dosent do this, i thought thats why this ride was going to be so revolutinary, like nothing ever done before. Whats up with that?

it's not actual weightlessness... it's the sensation of weightlessness, when the pod is tilted forward and the centrifuge decelerates. It's still like nothing else you've ever done.
