Missing Posts

I have my settings at showing 40 posts per page, which I'm guessing is screwing up how posts get viewed. If someone posts a link to a post, I get redirected to a random page in the thread. This also happens when I search posts...it directs me to somewhere else in a thread.

Is this a bug or are my settings just wrong?

I was having the problem with being sent to a random page in a thread if someone posts a link too. My searching for posts seems to be ok. It takes me to the correct page and then a while later it will jump to the actual post I wanted to see. I'm also on 40 posts per page. Weird. :shrug:

It all depends upon how many posts have been "Soft Deleted" in the thread. It's just the way vBulletin works.

If a moderator "Soft Deletes" a post, that post is still there but you and I can't see it, the mods and admin's can though.

If it is "Hard Deleted" I don't think it interferes with the post count. :shrug: From what I gather, they rarely Hard Delete unless the offender really messed up and then "POOF" all of their posts are removed completely.


BTW...40 posts per page here too!
