Mirror EPCOT Center

Welcome to Mirror Epcot Center! Inspired by @DisneyManOne Mirror WDW 3.0 thread, this is my take on an alternate universe EPCOT, an EPCOT that evolves very differently from the park we know today. In this mirror universe the Walt Disney Company finds slightly better success after Walt’s passing and their experimental films of the late 70’s and early 80’s such as The Black Hole and Tron are huge blockbusters and they can invest into the park more on a grander scale, but without ever having the threat of a hostile takeover in the early 1980s, which means Michael Eisner and Frank Wells never join the company in 1984, which in turn means Bob Iger and Bob Chapek do not either.
Marty Sklar and the Imagineers decided to postpone any plans for an actual E.P.C.O.T. city until well after the park is opened, if ever, fearing it would be too large an undertaking. Without the direction of Walt or Roy, they really did not know where to begin so the idea of a permanent world’s fair was born. Initially the ideas of World Showcase and Future World were going to be two separate parks, then the two ideas merged (like in the real world), but as they started to see more profit on the movie side of things, the Walt Disney Company decided to go for a much grander plan for phase 2 of the Florida project and moved forward with the two “half-day park” ideas.
The Imagineers create an almost hourglass footprint of these two parks back-to-back with each other with a hotel splitting the two down the middle, acting as a grand gate between the promise of tomorrow and the celebration of cultures of the past and present around our spaceship called earth that we all share. The entire complex is called EPCOT Center which encompasses EPCOT, the Disney’s Global Gateway Resort hotel, and World Showcase Park.

Over the next few weeks I will go over my ideas, uploading once every few days, starting with going through each pavilion in EPCOT (aka Future World), which will be encompass a total of 14 pavilions/experiences! After that we will go over the other park and hotel. The whole concept I'm going for in this Mirror universe is that Disney never gives up on the Edutainment (education through entertainment) mission of EPCOT, so no IP other than Figment and Dreamfinder, at least in this park.
I will be mixing in official Disney concept art, historical photos, as well as my own graphics and edited or created logos. I'm going to make a general timeline too!
