Today I noticed something new on the Skyway, but i need confirmations:

I don't remember seeing these trees before:

And this spot doesn't have any railing... I don't remember, did they remove them or it has always been like this? Because it looks quite dangerous...
Maybe they're preparing the area for the rumored expansion of this pathway?

I never wanted to ride the ride when I was a kid so I have never seen this before. The area is so pretty! It would do really well as a meet and greet area! Sad it's not used for much. Pixie Hollow in CA would fit VERY nicely here. Or Princesses. Curious about the cut out of the wall. Sore thumb. Something must be up...

That area is used for M&Gs on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, so maybe they will also use it for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Ah, ok thanks for the confirmation, and do you know something about the railings? I don't remember if there were railing there or not....

I don't remember that spot having railings when I went in August. The well/water fountains in the cast only area needs a fresh coat of paint...it's all chipped and looks terrible. The inside has a lot of hay and heavy duty cables all over the place. You can see two of these cables snaking upstairs from the outside. Thanks for the pictures! (And those trees are new.)

It'd be great if they could add a ride there. Valuable real estate for a ride imo. Maybe Pinocchio? But it's been like this for years, I doubt it.

There isn't really room for any kind of an attraction in this location. Basically what you see is what they've got. It's shoehorned in between Small World, Mansion and Yankee Trader/CHH. If they sacrificed all the beautiful open space and filled it in with a show building, they MIGHT be able to fit a small, two-level dark ride building, but it would make that end of Fantasyland seem VERY claustrophobic/alley-like.

All they could do with it as it is now would be Meet & Greets or a snack stand.

You've never seen it because its only been like this for a few years.

I've never seen that spot with railings, especially since I have seen many kids climbing on the rocks, secretly hoping they would fall in the pond...:lookaroun

I really hope that this area is turned into a meet-n-greet. Not demolishing the building but renovating it to fit a theme for something. Yes, this could be a great Pixie Hollow (or better yet, the princesses in the station and Pixie Hollow on the lower area in front of it). I would think there would be enough room up there for multiple characters to reside and interact with guests. This area is alot prettier than the pics of saw of the station for the same ride in Disneyland, which is sitting amongst trees (overgrowing around it) with nothing going on.

It would really only gave room for one or the other, sadly. You have to think about where the line of people would go. But it does seem really pretty.

I have a question...

Back when you rode the skyway, what was the view looking toward the HM ride building like from the FL skyway building? Was it blocked, or was there a clear view of a warehouse, basically? That warehouse is right behind that skyway building... Seems they'd have a barrier of some type so you couldn't see it.

Truthfully, I was very little the last time I rode the skyway there, and I have no memory of it.

Also... There was never a railing at that rock section by the pool of water. That happens to be right where I sit when I'm waiting for my family of girls to hit the bathroom.

I like this idea! I also wish that they'd bring back the skyway. It was a really fun way to get across the park. I know that somebody died while working on it, but that seems like more of a fluke than an actual danger.

All of the windows facing in that general direction were frosted and/or stained glass.

About the only time you might be able to see the Mansion at all (and this holds true now) is a few select angles when looking at the gate to the left of Small World, you can sort of see the wall of the show building and the alley it forms between Mansion and IASW.

I never got a chance to ride the Skyway, but I'm absolutely obsessed with the station houses. I took several photos of the FL Skyway & the TL Skyway (then under construction) on my vacation last September. Unfortunately I can't comment on the railings or the bushes/trees in question, as I focused more on the structure itself.
