This won't matter to most people here but it will to those who attend concerts at America Gardens Theater - especially when it's hot. Blessed shade is on the way.

WDW has planted 24 new Sycamore trees in the theater and they're not small ones. As you can see from the (really crappy) picture, these things are probably thirty feet or more.

From what I could tell of the lower limbs, I don't think this will result in too many sight line problems unless you're sitting directly behind one. And even then, the trunks are pretty small.

Kind of interesting considering the apparent denuding of the Hub.

Hmmmm.... wouldn't that result in people getting pooped on from birds in the trees?

The birds have to schedule their bowel movements 60 days in advance now and those trees are in tier 1 for them. Disney just doesn't schedule any pooping during concerts...problem solved;)

I'm all for shade but there is now a forest blocking the view of the stage, lol. How long before someone attempts to climb one?

I think inside the theater the view will be fine, but watching CP from outside the ropes is going to be really problematic I think. And of course hundreds of people do exactly that every year.

You won't be able to see most of the choirs and probably not the narrator - Sycamores just don't tend to lose all their leaves by Thanksgiving down here.

Maybe a good excuse to cancel the Christmas festivities:(

They wouldn't cancel the Candlelight Processional - it will be making them too much money.

However, it could stop people "lurking" in the back watching it for "free", and instead force more people to book a Dining Package in order to secure a seat...

But, I'm not going to complain about the addition of trees, unless of course they do block the view.

I've never been. Is it an extra charge like MVMCP?

We've never been before either - although we are going this year...

From what I gather, and feel free to correct me, it is free to watch the Candlelight Processional, but if you want to guarantee a seat for a specific time/date/presenter, then you can book the dining package.

There are two lines waiting outside, and they let those who have booked a CP Package in first, with the remaining seats being filled by those who haven't - if there's no space left after the first show, then you have to wait for the next one - if you can't get into that one - you have to wait for the next one, and if you can't get into that one, then you don't get in at all, but you would be able to hear it from waiting in the queue.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know how it worked. In that case I agree 100% that it should help sell the dinner packages if the trees block the view from the standing room section in the back.
