Well they saved 2 years of maintenance, an uncertain future (how long, how vacation travel recovered, the vast unknown), insurance, storage, and youd still have to have someone washing them (bird poo can do alot of damage and dirt and grime) (not just a parking space but covered for that long. Plus the vehicles were worth more then than now. From an Opex pov it makes more sense to sell them then purchase.. or lease new ones when or if they were ready to be used again. Also I am sure from a tax pov they made this work in their benefit.True. But they also didn't liquidate their fleet like he said ..
So you think they originally planned to shutter them for good?
