Anyway, I know we have a few members from there... so in the vein of every one of these threads that start up during catastrophes, please.. sign in.

We care about you guys, and worry about you guys. Let us know of you're ok, and if not :( Let us know what we can do to help!

Actually, I moved out of that area about 2 years ago back home to WI. However, my prayers go out to all involved in the tragedy. I traveled over that bridge many times while I lived there.

That bridge is the best way to get from the Downtown area to Mall of America, so that will cause major traffic delays. There is another bridge right next to it, but it's not set up to handle the kinds of traffic it is going to get from this...not to mention the gawkers.

Thanks for the kind thoughts :)

I just saw this thread!

It has been crazy with all that has been going on about this bridge. Information is changing all the time. I was in the area when it happened, in fact, I drove over the bridge about 30 minutes before it collapsed!

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I know everyone here in MN appreciates them. A contract worker at my job had a son on the bus that was on the bridge.

I am from the Minneapolis area and am actually moving back down there next week, just south of Downtown...

Thanks for the concern. The rescue effort has been going strong, hopefully they locate as many people that were on the bridge as they can. We have been having a drought for a while now which could be considered a good thing for this situation, because of the low current in the Mississippi at this time.
